    Post-Eagles Mock Draft

To start off, I'd like to congratulate the Bears on the win, lets hope for a great season!
As usual, we get a 4th for Berrian, and a 6th for ayen.
I will go with the Bears picking near in the area of 10, only because I cant see the Bears D withstanding injuries and offensive lack of production.

    1(1): Andre Smith (RT/OG):
Very powerful, physical run blocker. Can play any of the tackle positions or guard positions. Adds depth everywhere and a great addition to the OL.

    2(2): Herman Johnson (OG)
Big, tall, strong, and agile. Second best OG on my board, behind Duke Robinson who goes in the first.

    3(3): Josh Freeman (QB)
It really is hard to believe that our starting QB is Kyle Orton, and not far behind is Rex Grossman. Check down vs. gun slinger. Bad vs. worse. There is Caleb Hanie, but you do have to remember that he did play against the 3rd stringers (many were cut).

    4(4): Carltn Mitchell (WR)
    Big, fast. Can catch well.

    5(4): Matt Shaughnessy (DE)
Pure pass rusher. The Bears havent been able to kep a full pass rush going and this takes up extra LBs, CBs, or Ss that could be covering. This makes thing even easier for the DE rotation and 3rd down blitzs. I dont see Mark Anderson doing quite so much.

    6(5): Fenuki Topou (RT/OG)
Another RT or OG on this list. Tons of muslce on his frame and is an excellent run blocker.

    7(6): Brannan Southerland (FB)
Great catching and blocking FB. Not bad at short yardage runs and blocks for THE Knowshon Moreno.

    8(6): Troy Nolan (FS/SS)
Can play either SS or FS. Not bad in coverage or tackling and doesnt screw up often.

    9(7): David Washington (OC)
Falls because he broke his leg. Very strong OC, but a little undersized and stiff.

    Well, there we go.

with Freemans size and arm strength i dont think he will make it to the 3rd someone will fall in love with him and take him much earlier.

I would think so as well, but I dont think he will be like a Joe Flacco. Flacco had a much sronger arm to appeal to teams. Freeman has a strong arm, but it isnt as strong.

    Re: Post-Eagles Mock Draft

While I like several of your picks, I think several of them are unrealistic even at this point.

Andre Smith should be there at 10 and that would be fine if none of the top quarterbacks delcare.  Speaking of quarterbacks, however, no way Freeman declares and sits on the board into the 70s.  If he comes out and the Bears want him, he'll cost a second.  Good guards like Trevor Canfield should be available in the third, so if they went Andre Smith/Josh Freeman/Trevor Canfield it would be pretty cool.  Mitchell, Shaughnessy, and especially Tupou should be gone by the time you have the Bears taking them.  The last few picks are fine, Southerland could finally end the McKie project and give them what they though they had in Bryan Johnson.

    Re: Post-Eagles Mock Draft

a line with smith and johnson would be amazing especially for forte the line would be really big

Williams-Johnson-Kruetz-Beekman-Smith good balance with the line

Williams-Beeman-Kruetz-Johnson -Smith the right side of the line would would dominate in the run game

    Re: Post-Eagles Mock Draft

Ha, I was waiting for the post eagles mock!

Once again I like your emphasis on the OL, as I feel it is still the Bears biggest need.  I also agree with the other poster who stated several players will not be available in those rounds, namely Josh Freeman and Carlton Mitchell.

    Couple of suggestions...

A 3rd or 4th round WR I really like is Ramses Barden.  He is a bit of a no name b/c he is from a small school but he is very productive and HUGE (6'6 225lbs).  Look for him to have a good combine and rise very similiar to Vincent Jackson.

Also I believe I read somewhere that Forte had his best season in college when his team converted to a ZBS system.  Add that to the size of the current Bears OL,  and I don't know if they will draft two 350lb monsters.
