*superfriend*:Mods, please move this thread to the QB forum....It doesn't make sense........
fontjones:Damn, he is so fast he outran his ribcage...
Do you think about anything else fade? I thought I was bad
I dont think we should waste a high pick on a QB, Im not particularily impressed with any of the prospects coming out this season anyway. If we suck so much that Crabtree is available Id go for him, otherwise im all for upgrading the O-Line.
Perfect world, Chris Williams and Dan Buenning step up and become contributers to the O-Line late into season, we draft Duke Robinson for the other guard spot. Cut some deadweight in Booker, Orton, Garza, Adams, and possibly Hillenmeyer unless he shapes up. Make a splash sign Roy Williams and bring in a QB like Kyle Boller or Joey Harrington to compete with Grossman and Hanie.
Grossman can be dynamite behind a good O-Line and running game in which this scenario we would have, I have seen flashes of Boller and think he can be a good QB. Ultimately I think Caleb Hanie might be the starter but need fallback plans.

ANDRE SMITH!!! cutting tait would mean free cap space to sign williams. in the second round we should draft a QB. e.g. Harper, Painter, Cantwell... the third round should be used to get a solid OG or C, depends on what the front office thinks about beekman (better at C or OG? if C then draft a guard and beekman takes over for kreutz in two years). a wr should be taken with the compensatory pick for BB. . the rest of the draft should be defense (DE, Nickel, FS, ST...) and a FB... my point of view...
if were picking relativly high say around 9 i would trade down to 15 and draft darrius heyward-bey hes 6"3 210 has great hands , but also runs a high 4.2-low4.3 and then trade back up inthe first round to about 20 and draft OG Duke Robinson hes just a beast and i really dont think he falls to the second. and then pick the best availabel tacle in the second but we would have no third and maybe no fourth
beckdawg:If we are at 9, I'd rather us trade up for the best QB if Bradford is in the mix. Heyward-bey might turn out to be a great WR but we currently have no way to get him the ball. Even if we did, we are a running team until further notice. So, drafting a WR this high seems to go against our coaching philosophy. I think you build your running game to the best of your ability and then worry about players like WR.
im not high on bradford he puts up greats stats but if ou actually watch a game they will continue to pur on the score to pad his stats unlike other teams who will put the back up in, but anway if you watch an entire game he has all day long to throw the bal and he gets the ball to his team and they make all the plays after the catch and a decent arm not bad but not good either

Anyone been really impressed with QB Colt McCoy of Texas so far this season? He's only a junior but McCoy may actually graduate early and if he continues to perform anything close to what he has so far he'll be a 1st round pick in the draft. McCoy, a coaches son with FB smarts, good size, very mobile and a strong, very accurate arm to boot.
Texas plays at OU 10/11 and then has Mizzo at home 10/18 so we'll see if he's the real McCoy pretty quick.
Otherwise I really like either T Andre Smith of Alabama or G Duke Robinson of Oklahoma. Robinson has also played some RT at Oklahoma. Either of these guys would be immediate starters and super safe & talented picks.

Colt was a 3rd round pick coming into the season by most mock drafters. At that price I think he'd be wroth a look. If he moves up to a 2nd rounder... I'd still consider him. I don't think he's a 1st rounder. I also like Andre Smith. Robinson is probably out of our plans unless we trade down or he slips.
on top of that not to many qbs from spread offenses have success and not to many florida quarter backs do either. and tebow hasnt put up nearly as good of stats as he did last year here are his stats- 38/64 59.4 % 489 yards five tds zero picks and no rushing tds
He actually projects to a guard in the pros since hes about 340 lbs but only 6'4.
And as you know versitility is key with olineman, so a guy who plays left tackle in the SEC, projects as a guard in the NFL, and looks like he could be a Pro Bowl right tackle sounds like a great idea to an oline with too many question marks.
