    How does the scoring work?

    How do you know how many points for a touchdown or other things like that. Do they subtract points?

    Re: How does the scoring work?

    Touchdown = 6 points
    Extra Point Conversion = 1 point
    Two-Point Conversion = 2 points
    Field Goal = 3 points
    Safety= 2 points

    That is all the ways to score in football. No subtractions.

    dont forget the beloved drop kick.

    When a player lines up deep in a "shotgun" look and drops the ball to the turf and quickly kicks the ball on a hop, if it goes inbetween the uprights it's classified as a field goal and the team is awarded 3 points.

    Last time it happened was Doug Flutie with the patriots in 2005.

    In college football the defense can score 2 pts on a blocked extra point if they run it back across their own goal line.

    Only in college ball though...
