    OFFICIAL 2008 TAILGATING PACKAGES

With the help of Corey from Miami......the website is updated for the 2008 season.  This year promises to be another great year of Tailgating!  We already took over 100 reservations (before the website was even updated).  Check out the website ( http://www.forkyoutailgatingclub.com) for some exciting changes for the 2008 season.

We will be hosting full Tailgate Parties before the Tampa, Philly, Tenn and Jax games.  There will also be more limited parties for the Saints and Packers games.

    Re: OFFICIAL 2008 TAILGATING PACKAGES

Hi Dennis.  I am so glad you are doing Jacksonville and NO!  We decided since it is Sunday and Thrusday it was a great chance to go to 2 games in one trip since air fares are so high now from Texas.  Sign us up for 2 for each game!  I will email you to get details on how to pay you.

Are you going to be able to make it down for the Houston game?

Had a blast at the Giants tailgate last year!

Hey Ryan, I tailgated with you last year in Houston at the pre-season game.  I was the guy who drove from California straight in for the game before going on to Kansas.  That was a fun tailgate.  Are you going to make it up to Chicago or any road games this year (besides Houston)?

    Re: OFFICIAL 2008 TAILGATING PACKAGES

    Just a couple updates........

    * Only 3 days left to get the early bird price for the Tampa Tailgate.  Reservations made after this Sunday will be $5 higher per person.

    * Due to the high price of food and gas, I may eliminate the "Pay on Gameday" option.  About half the people that say they will pay on gameday.....never show up.  When I take late reservations, it usually means an extra trip (or two) to the store for more food and beverages.  When people don't show up, I get stuck with extra food that usually goes to waste.

    * The Saints and Packers game will be open to anyone (repeat customers and new customers).  Due to the time of the year, these Tailgate Parties will probably end up a little smaller anyways.  I'm hoping to change up the menu a little for these parties.

    * Make you reservations early for the December games (especially Jacksonville).  I will be on vacation with the family from Thanksgiving until the Friday before the Jacksonville game.  I'm not sure how much access I will have to the Internet while out of town?

    * I made it to Indy for the season opener.  That will probably be my last Road Trip of the season.  With the family vacation in late November, I have decided not to make the trip to St. Louis.  The Houston game is too close to the Holidays.

    * Looking ahead to next year........ Road trips to San Francisco and Baltimore are on our radar!

Dennis, Due to our beloved Cubbies, congrats to carlos. I and my 4 buds will not be making it to the philly game on the 28th.  so i will have to cancel our tailgate reservations. I am sorry but 2 things happened. I had tickets to cubs houston this weekend and one of the games will probubly be played on the 29th in houston so I will go with the wife to that. and also I plan on going to chicago the 3rd week of october if the cubs make it to the series. I already have tickets to go to stl and houston. But i see you cant go to them. It doesnt look good for us to get together this year unless we make the playoffs. let me know if things change in stl or houston. good luck go bears

    Re: OFFICIAL 2008 TAILGATING PACKAGES

Eagles - Bears is just 6 days away.  I'm getting ready to place my meat orders.  Get your reservations in if you are interested in joining us.

Yesterday was our biggest Home Opening Tailgate ever (101 people!!!)  That was also our 4th largest party we've ever thrown.

The Food Network was on sight filming for a new show called Pie Nation.  They were doing a feature on Lou Malnati's w/ our Tailgate Party as a backdrop.

Our first ever Cornhole Toss Tournament didn't go so well.  We had 32 team entered in the tournament.  Two of the guys that were bringing extra sets of boards couldn't make it into the 31st street parking lot - - - so we had to hold the tournament on just 2 sets of boards.  The biggest problem was playing best 2 out of 3 matches.  Another issue was getting the early rounds started.  For future tournaments, we will have to play one match in the first and second rounds and best 2 out of 3 for the Final 8 or Final 4.  Everyone still seemed to have a lot of fun competing.  We did get down to a Final Four before it was time to go to the game.  Luckily, I brough some extra prizes from http://www.letsgotailgating.com

With the 31st filling up early (and the typical periodic closures of Moe Drive), many of our people couldn't even park in our lot.  Despite this, we only had 2 people not show up.  We had people walking 1-2 miles to get to our set-up, grabbing cabs, jumping fences, etc.....

In the end it was worth it.  Another great day of Tailgating in Chicago!!!  Too bad the Bears couldn't put the nail in the coffin (again).

Jeff - Sorry to hear you won't be able to make it for your annual journey to Chicago for a Bears game.  If there is any way I can make it to St.L &/or Hou.....I will let you know!

    Re: OFFICIAL 2008 TAILGATING PACKAGES

I finally have a few extra minutes to recap the Eagles-Bears Tailgate Party.  We had 116 guests.  After just two home games this season, we have already hosted 217 people from 14 different states!  23 of our 116 guests were Eagles Fans.  It's too bad all Eagle Fans couldn't be as nice and friendly as all these guys were.  From what I heard (from the Eagles Fans after the game), Bear fans weren't too nice to them inside the stadium.  I'm not sure if it is a record for us or not - - - but 757 beers were consumed at the Tailgate Party!  I didn't count the bottles of liquor before the party, but I know we polished off 8 bottles of Vodka, 3 bottles of Whiskey and 2 bottles of Jagermeister!  One highlight of the party was the Ice Carving that the "Ice Man" from Ice Carving Enterprises brough over.  He was trying to sell the Ice Sculptures to people in the parking lot.  I told him we weren't interested,  and he eventually gave us a free sample.  It was a slope w/ a river like channel down it and it said Go Bears on each side.  It made for some very cold Jager Bombs!  The website for the Ice Man (Phil Hurst) is http://www.icecarve.com

On top of a great Tailgate Party, we were also able to enjoy a great Football Game!!!

We'll be taking the next two (Minn & Det) Home Games off.  We will be Tailgating before Tenn, Jax, NO, GB and hopefully a home playoff game!

    * * * IMPORTANT NOTES * * *

    * I will be out of the country from Thanksgiving Day until December 5th.  I'm not sure if I'll have internet access while I'm gone??  If you are interested in joining us for the Jaguars game - - - please complete your reservations before Thanksgiving.

    * On the website, it mentions the New Orleans and Green Bay games will be "limited" Tailgate Parties.  I've received several e-mails asking if we can make an exception for them.  We figured the easiest way to handle this......is to keep all Tailgate Parties open to anyone interested in joining us.  However, we may mix up the menu a little bit for the last couple of games?

    Re: OFFICIAL 2008 TAILGATING PACKAGES

It looks like the 31st street lot will be unavailable for Tailgating before the Titans-Bears game.  Sadly, we have decided to cancel our Tailgate Party before this game.

    * Anyone that has prepaid for that game will be given a full refund.

    * We will (hopefully) still be hosting Tailgate Parties before the Jacksonville, New Orleans and Greeen Bay games.  (if there is a home playoff game - - - we will do that as well)

    Re: OFFICIAL 2008 TAILGATING PACKAGES

As the Bears get ready for their 3 game Road Trip.......It's time to start thinking about the back to back to back Home Games & Tailgate Parties in December!

    3 Tailgate Parties in 16 Days!!!   (December 7th, 11th & 22nd)

If you plan on joining us for any of these games, please try to make reservations BEFORE Thanksgiving.  Our family vacation to Mexico was rescheduled from the end of December to the week after Thanksgiving.  We leave Thanksgiving Day and won't be back until December 5th (just 2 days before the first of three Tailgates).  I'm not sure if I'll even have internet access in Mexico?

    Re: OFFICIAL 2008 TAILGATING PACKAGES

Just got back in town a couple of hours ago.  Should be an exciting week (with 2 Big Tailgate Parties).

This Sunday's party is just about full.  Any last minute reservations will need to get done by Friday night.

We can probably continue to take reservations for Thursday's game until Monday or Tuesday.
