    Al Michaels:
I still like Red Sawx to take it all. You can call me a hater, but I'm just not sold on this pitching being strong enough to withstand the rest of the season, and possibly postseason.

Yeah Mark has struggled this year and losing Jose sucked but it's still nice to be in it after that dismal year last year.  Remember, every move Kenny made this offseason was the wrong move according to the media, and there was no way we were hanging with the Tigers and Indians.  It's been fun so far.

Haha, yeah, the Tigers...biggest underachievers out there. You look at their lineup, you go "good golly, how can anyone compete against that?"

But yeah, I'm still having a blast watching the season. The pitching still scares me the most, but like in any sport, things can change in a heartbeat. Who knows, maybe the staff (specifically Mark and Javier) pick it up, and throw like we know they can.

White Sox can't hang with the Red as Dice K owns them again.

Bats don't put up any effort. Wow, Sox are lucky Beckett was placed on the DL cause that would've been another disaster.

Quentin had a screw inserted into his fractured wrist. They say they'll evaluate it in 2-3 weeks but I'm pretty sure he's done for the year.

Doesn't sound like it. The best they can hope for is that they make the playoffs, then maybe have him back then.

Good start so far without Q.

And how about Uribe? Man's picked his game up since moving to 3rd.

That's a big chunk of offense out the door.  At least Linebrink is back.  It's going to go down to the wire!

Re: Official 2008 White Sox thread

I hope we have the "oomph" to get us across the finish line.  Not exactly hitting on all cylinders right now in any departmenet and with tough road games looming including the critical series in MN I think if we do get the division we will limp across.  Just being realistic.

Re: Official 2008 White Sox thread

Hey, as long as we're in because come playoff time, anything can happen. I know it's cliche, but it's not like it's wrong.

Re: Official 2008 White Sox thread

This offense continues its inconsistancy while the bullpen continues to fail. This is NOT the way they want to go if they plan on making the Offs.

Re: Official 2008 White Sox thread

One game it looks great, the next it looks crappy.  I tell ya, it's only because the twinkies are just as mediocre that we retain a lead.  that series in MN will determine all and with our luck in that poor excuse for a ballpark I'm not confident.

Re: Official 2008 White Sox thread

Yeah, it looks a little disheartening. Stupid Rays decide to blow a 5 run lead in the 9th NOW. Sheesh.

Is it me, or did it look like the Sox got roughed up quite a bit by the AL East?

Haha, I saw that one. His impression could've been a lot better, but nonetheless a solid performance.

Ozzie's voice is crazy-easy to do. Plus you just gotta say things like: "joo not like it, joo a fhag".

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IA2yEVG_T8s    Sketch goes on way too long.

The series and results I feared.  Javy sucks.  Domes suck.  Sox bats suck. Tonight maybe the guys can grow some big ones and realize they're in a fight for the division and not play patty-cake out there.

These guys better light a fire under themselves quick.

Re: Official 2008 White Sox thread

Yeah, these guys look so lifeless. They don't deserve a post season with play like this.

Funny thing is, outside of Jr. and Thome, I wonder how many would even care if they didn't make it.
