    Blackhawks and Bears announce Partnership

    http://blackhawks.nhl.com/club/news.htm?id=502088&navid=DL|CHI|home

They are going to release some commercials featuring Kane, Toews, Sharp, Seabrook and Campbell from the Hawks and Briggs, Cutler, Gould, Hester, and Olsen from the Bears.

"...I'll find a place to rest my spirit if I can.
Perhaps I may become a highwayman again.
Or I may simply be a single drop of rain,
    But I will remain,
And I'll be back again, and again, and again..."

Re: Blackhawks and Bears announce Partnership

I like the quote made by Blackhawks senior vice president of business operations Jay Blunk in the story featured on chicagobears.com.

He said that "The Blackhawks are an up-and-coming brand, on the move. But the Chicago Bears are an iconic international brand. We are very fortunate the Bears allowed up to do this."

    Here's my input:

The Bears have been my favourite team in all of football ever since the days when Walter Payton trampled over the rest of the competition. Back then, I didn't have a hockey team that I could call my own. At times, I gravitated towards the Blackhawks. Sadly, few ppl in Canada had ever even mentioned the Blackhawks because of the perrenial losers that they were for a long time. They just didn't generate any BUZZ. The Montreal Canadiens became a lot more applealing. Like the Bears in football, the Canadiens personified the NHL while generating an illustrious history along with plenty of Hall of Fame players. Besides, I have often emraced the francophone culture. That is something that doesn't apply with the Blackhawks. Also, I could never tolerate the Senators and Maple Leafs. It made choosing the Canadiens very simple for me. I could never imagine that the Blackhawks would ever get this good. In my view, they'll come out of the Western Conference for sure. I may be wrong but I firmly believe that whomever comes out of the East will emerge as 2009-10 Stanley Cup champions. It could either be Pittsburgh, Washington, Tampa Bay, or the New York Rangers.

When it comes to the Blackhawks, they have certainly come a long way. Pierre McGuire of the Sports Network insists that the Blackhawks emergence into prominence is great for the NHL. The way I see it, the Bears/Blackhawks advertising partnership is tremendous for the City of Chicago, It makes me proud to be a Bears fan. Now if the Canadiens could only get it together under new coach Jacques Martin, then I'd really be happy!
