Rex already helped his team to a super bowl without half of what Romo has had..........

I think any of you that would take Romo need to go become Cowgirl fans like right now. I am so sick of you guys dogging the best qb we have had in awhile. Now Superfriend I am glad to see your a real Bear supporter. I would not want some guy like Romo eventhough I got him on madden, but he is my backup to REX hahaha... Anyways Rex is much tougher cause he has had to deal with Chicago fans and media being idiots and hating on him. I say f*** that bs. There are alot of qbs that needed more years to really develop and excell. I would choose Rex over Romo cause its not his fault we lost the SB. Its the ENTIRE team that failed to show up. So Rex all day!! I would take Romo on the Bears only to be backup and only as that end of story. Talk badly all you want cause like Rex .. I will still be here.

BEAR DOWN !!  SWALLOW THAT TRUTH!

Are you serious!! nobody is hating on Rex we just being realistic in saying Romo is a better talent than Rex. Rex has the stronger arm (slightly) but accuracy mobility and field vision all goes to Romo which is why he is better than Rex. He choked in the Seahawks playoff game a couple years ago but that recent Giants playoff game wasn't his fault his line give up on him and T.O and the rest of his receivers was M.I.A after the first quarter.

I actually felt that Berrian and Rashied Davis was the fault of some of Grossman INT's and Ron Rivera was the #1 reason of the SB loss

I agree, what does it have to do with being a Bears fan, when asked to compare two players. Romo is better than Rex, that's just being realistic.

    Re: Romo or Grossman??

Making a genuine comparison between them is nearly impossible for these reasons.
These reason I will list are out of the OBs hands, but totaly affect the outcome of the QBs efforts.

    1. OC--the guy who desiced what playts to call...forgot not that the play called determines the  personel and formation they are in...Dallas has the far superior OC, and puts his offense into better position to a)manage clock, and b) score. Oddly though, our OC is attempting to run a version of the old 90s Cowboy playboook---a playbook which is lethal or abysmal depending almost exclusively on the quality of the Oline and the WRs being commited to blocking for run as well as catching---both of these stunk.

    2. O-line--ours was desperately wretched last years, and not even that amazing in 06--D and ST helped a lot. Dallas' O-line is good, very good.

    3. WRs--Dallas has top notch recievers...and to boot an excellent TE in the passing game. The BearsWRs last 2 years have been more showboaters than workhorses...not commited to helping the run game--which encourages stacking box and blitzing more. Our WRs didn't fight to prevent Ints, complete routes...Dallas beats us in this. We also have good TEs for passing...but refer to #1, OC.

4.Run game---I say run game over RBs, because so much of the running game working is the O-line making blocks, WRs making  blocks, and OC calling plays to exploit D, and adjusting to them....this all drove down the quality of our run game regardless of who was in the backfield...all 3 struggled.

So on offense: Rex has had an OC who is dreadful, lines that help neither him or RBs, and WRs who were weak.....Dallas has had good OCs, Great O-line, an amazing recievers with good remaining ones, and a run game that worked due to good OC and O-line. Given that, ---it really amkes it impossible to compare faily. It undoubtable that Rex has gone further with less....its inescapable that Romo has looked better at times, less bad at others...I love underdogs, and really I love the way Rex has shown grit in the face of unreal adversity and never thrown anyone under the bus---who of us could handle being on national papers and TV for ridicule and keep our heads up, keep giving our best...so I'll take Rex for potential...hes has a better arm, and mechanics/pocket presence can grow over time...--look at Terry Bradshaw---arm strength and touch are harder to improve.

    Re: Romo or Grossman??

I went back and read some of these . . . Ladies & Gentlemen, there is no comparing Rex Grossman to Tony Romo.

Think! - - - if Lovie Smith was asked to trade Tony for Rex - strait up! What would he do...?

He'd be packing Rex's bags himself and handing over a plane ticket to Dallas.

Yeah, I'm ashamed to admit it but I think Terrell Owens is better than Brandon Rideau too.

    Re: Romo or Grossman??

Romo is overrated.  He has benefited from having superior receivers, a better O-line, better running backs and coaching.

I'm not saying either one is any better, but give Rex the same surrounding cast and he'll shine.  I hate Owens, but he can make any QB look good.

In 1985, the Bears drafted a rookie kicker out of Georgia named Kevin Butler, who called his fiancée from training camp in Platteville, Wis., and explained that "we're going to have to change the date of our wedding, because we're going to the Super Bowl and it's on January 26th."

    Re: Romo or Grossman??

I say Grossman.  Why?  Because he's a Bear.  Alot of our players are deep in character and scouted for that. You can keep the pretty boy.  They've both shown they can choke in the big moment.  Both are too young, or have played too few big games, to call at this point.

    Re: Romo or Grossman??

What the supposed Cowboy fan is saying is that fans in Dallas are claiming Romo is bad because he can't win a playoff game. Sort of the same with the contingent that say Grossman was horrible in 2006 since he didn't win the Superbowl.

The thing is those people making these claims would accept a worse QB who probably can't get the team to the playoffs rather than get to the playoffs and lose.

    Re: Romo or Grossman??

Romo over Rex? Lets see. Romo has had a much better O-line, better receivers and better Running backs. With all that....Romo hasnt won a playoff game, and actually cost his team the game against Seattle in 06.... sending a legendary coach back into retirement.  In that same year, Grossman, lead a comeback against Seattle in 06... and helped the bears get to the Superbowl in 06.

In 07 Romo played well all year... until december.... and in the playoffs he threw a game losing INT in the endzone.

Add these playoff performances with the Cowboys much better supporting cast..... I would take Grossman. I would take the Cowboys Offense over the Bears Offense though(excluding Hester)

Put Romo behind our aging O-line, replace TO with Moose, and replace Marion Barber and Jones with Cedric Benson... and see how well Romo Does.

I think that question was partially answered in the Bears/Dallas game last year.  Our D did a great job getting after Romo but he was able to escape and make plays.  It wasn't his RBs, his OL or his WRs - it was Romo buying time until somebody came open.

I don't like Romo and I laughed my butt off when he dropped that snap in the playoffs a couple of year ago, but the guy has superior skills to Rex.  There's just no question.
