What i want to know is what does everybody have against Hillbillys or Rednecks. Not all are Morons, just like any other group of people.

I think it's just the terms. Terms like "hillbilly" and "redneck" are more derogatory - describing only the morons who live in the south. Because like you point out, not all southerners are morons.

One does not have to live in the South to be a redneck.  Try Michigan or Indiana for starters.

I lived in Southern Illinois for about 5 years... and let me just say

REDNECK CENTRAL!!!

Holy cow, those people are southern. Rednecks, for sure. The boys start chewing tobacco at about 12 years old. Everybody has a skoal ring in their jeans. Big trucks, good for going mudding.

I lived in the STL area before that but always in the suburbs on the Illinois side and considered myself to be a small town girl who was a little country. When I moved to So.IL, however. I felt like the most sophisticated person in the county and like a city girl.

IHTB is right about SoIL. From Mt. Vernon south, it's all hicktowns.
