Matt Forte has 1,009 combined yards this season out of the Bears' 3,245. His 33.9 percent production would be the ninth highest percentage of combined yards in team history if he can keep it up. It's fourth in the NFL behind Adrian Peterson (34.4), Clinton Portis (34.4) and Frank Gore (34.4). All those players are in the NFC, which means it's going to be difficult for Forte to make the Pro Bowl.

-Forte has 1,476 total yards, eclipsing Sayers' Bears rookie record of 1,374 total yards, which he established in a 14-game schedule in 1965. Sayers, who did not start until the third game of that season under coach George Halas, scored an NFL rookie-record 22 touchdowns and was named NFL Rookie of the Year.

-Running back Matt Forte joined an elite club when he caught five passes to raise his team-leading total to 53. That made him the seventh rookie to rush for 1,000 yards and have 50 catches, and the first since LaDainian Tomlinson in 2001.

The others are Edgerrin James, Marshall Faulk, Eric Dickerson, Billy Sims and Joe Cribbs. Cribbs and Forte are the only ones not drafted in the first round. Forte is now four catches short of breaking Thomas Jones' club record for a back, set in 2004.

Right.

Not making the playoffs was extremely dissapointing, overall this was a fun year to watch the Bears play football.
