    Re: Olin Kreutz

I think Vasher1 is correct, yeah he is not as good as he used to be but he is still pretty good and a great leader on the offense as it is.

I think he is one of the most overrated players we have. He's not a great blocker and most of the fumbled snaps are because of him.

But, he's not going anywhere. Get use to Kreutz.

    "Can you feel it?"

    Re: Olin Kreutz

J.A. has damn near missed the memo stating that successful offenses in the NFL need a good OL. I do think they have been a little better this year than last, but we have a OL aging quickly in a hurry. C. Williams better be solid next year or we're in trouble. If Angelo is smart, he would do well by picking up a couple more in the next draft.

I have gone back and watched most of the screen passing plays this season, and one glaring thing jumps out: OLIN KREUTZ NEVER BLOCKS ANYONE!

I'll let you in on a little secret......  on screen passes, the OL often lets defenders rush past them as if it's part of the play.  Don't tell anyone.

Tell me you are really not that clueless?

    LOL, almost funny though!

Players we needed to draft in 08' to have a dynasty:

    - Chris Williams - LT Vanderbilt: Check!

    - Matt Forte - RB Tulane: check!

    - Earl Bennett - WR Vanderbilt: Check!

    Dynasty! Babe!.

    ok....fine....whatever......

My stance on Olin Kruetz is the same as my stance on Brian Urlacher -

They are HOF'ers and they get a pass for not being as good as they used too be.

Olin is one of top 10 greatest centers of all time and i hope he stays a bear his whole career . Olin @ 35 yrs old will be better than half the centers in the NFL

I am soooo sick an tired of people bashing him. He is the leader of our O-Line and perhaps our whole offense. He was great but now maybe he is just good. The average NFL Career is like 4 yrs. He has been  playing at at pro bowl level for at least 7 yrs.

    Give the guys a break.
Im sick and tired of bears fans beating up on our LEGENDS.

I swear you guys would have hated butkus becasue he was too slow and sayers because he was to fragile and singletary be cause he was too small and payton because of his ball security and the wat he carried it.

I love the bears but i HATE  bear fans.

    End Rant

Really like Singltary.  Didn't see Butkus,  nor Sayers.  I love Walter, he was the whole reason I became a Bears fan a the early age of 3 living in Washington DC area and the son of a die-hard Skins' fan.  But even at the ripe old age of thee, I still wondered why he was caring the ball like a loaf of bread?  So, yeah, I agee, I think even the best need to never settle for being "good enough".

To quote Bill Parcells, " When a player starts letting 'good enough', be good enough...then this is the first step for them being out of the league".

    And boy ain't it true!

Are you serious? What has Bill Parcells ever done?

    J/k

Yeah, I've got a gut feeling....

For years I have been an OK fan, but I have to admit, watching him this year is painful.  It is time to call it a career.
    Metal all the time.

    Re: Olin Kreutz

It's time for him to retire.

Olin Kreutz and Roberto Garza have both been more liabities than assets in my opinion.

IF it were me running the show this would be my offensive line for 2009:

    Chris Williams at LT (rookie)

Terrance Metcalf at LG (7 year vet)

Josh Beekman at C (3 year vet)

Dan Buenning at RG (4 year vet)

Marc Colombo at RT (FREE AGENT) Jerry Angelo brings back his first ever pick.

You will finally get some holes to open up in the running game and some solid 4-5 second pass protection pockets.

30 seconds in, Olin misses again on a lead play.

Yeah, I agree. If Kreutz retired, it would save money, and the hassle of cutting or trying to trade him. He doesn't have it physically to play the position anymore.

Every time I see Beekman pulling I get excited, every time I see Olin pulling I get worried.

Beekman has made a case to be the starting center next year. Garza need to go too...we need a RT and an OG...too bad we have so many other needs, like CB, DE, S.
