Common sense would tell me though that if at least five threads exist saying Bullocks sucks and questioning the move, there should be at least ONE thread saying how great it was! EXACTLY! Thank you! Thank you, thank you, thank you! No one is suggesting that there weren't any anti-Bullocks threads that popped up also.

uh IHTB he is saying there SHOULD be one great thread , sicne over 5 bad signign threads exist..THAT NONE EXISTS proves you are wrong, he isn't agreeing with you, he is pointign out teh fallicacy in your argument .. geez you have lost it.

Actually that's not what he's saying at all. He's saying that common sense would dictate there would be some pro-Bullocks threads. He uses a 5-1 ratio as a possible example. And of course he's right. There are an awful lot of Kool-aid drinking homer happy Bear fans on this board who praise anything and everything the Bears do. No one will argue that. So again, common sense dictates that there would be some.

The fact that none exist at this moment in time doesn't prove me wrong. I never once claimed that they existed today. I said they existed the day the signing was announced. And they did. I read them. I made a point to read them because I had never heard of the guy before and wanted to know who the guy was.

I don't know though.  I'm trying to think back to the Brandon Lloyd signing of last year.  I'm sure there were some optimistic threads, but I doubt even with a fair amount of homers I doubt someone started a thread about how awesome the signing was (even though I suspected at the time he was going to be the #2 WR).  That's kind of like this.

think i finally see YOUR PROBLEM..

YOU really DO think you can read people's minds and actually do think you know what otehr people think!

its pretty Hysterical how you speak for other people! and dispitew this person disagreeign with you,, you change it into he agrees with you 100%!~.lolololI think i'll wait untul this 1985 person shows up to tells what he really thought, instead of YOU telling us what he thinks!.. soemthign tell me he will not say what you jsut did

    i'm funny that way..

thanks for the laugh once again IHTB the mindreader..

and you also "claimed" you *never* saw that video before but 9 different posters all said that video was posted THE SAME DAY heSIGNED,, so if you were radifn threads that day you HAD TO SEE IT POSTED( you even posted a thread from that day shwoing the vid!!) so we know what you "claim' isn't always accurate or true

    Cheers!

and as in the post directly before that one he claiemd you were wrong AND NOT ONE great thread existed i doubt he meant 2 minutues later a 5-1 ratio existed!!and saying tehre was any  don't you?

The more you bluster, posture and profess to be telling the truth, makes one wonder how genuine you really are.

Can you admit the other poster found at least 4 or 5 threads from Bear fans saying the move was bad and questioning Bullocks?  If so, can't you also concede that you have no proof that the "great" threads exist?

This really seems to be a thread that got away from you.  Now you're backed into a corner and just seem desperate to save face.

and google just "magically" made ONLY those "great signings" threads   dissapear, while keeping the negative ones..when you do a search,.,lolololol yeah right!

    no one buys it anymore.

in your bizzare and lame "act" to put down bear fans.. you have simply exaggerated what wasn't there... and you got busted and called on it this time. While might have been some "give him a  chance" threads, in response to the vast overwhelmingly negative reaction. none said great, and that was proven, you tried a lame exaggeration of the signing to do some weak smack here, and it backfired in your face, no big deal.. but you just keep looking worse now. Just dmit you were wrong and move on

You have no idea what you are talking about except that Cutler is not and never will be the Bears saviour. Cutler is not a long ball passer, that's not what he's know for.
If you think he's going to suddenly complete a bunch of long balls without
overthrowing or missing his targets your living in dreamland.  Look, between the 20's
Cutler is very good at moving the ball, quick short dumps and fast passes under 20 yards
is his cup of tea. No doubt he can and will move the ball down the field, but it won't be by
long balls I can guarantee you that.
Go Here and scroll down to Cutlers Field Position situational stats.
You will see that last year nearly 74% of Cutlers 384 completions were made between the 20's.  Thats lots and lots of quick short passes with a vast majority being under 20 yards.  No doubt the guy knows how to move the chains between the 20's.  Go outside the 20's and the guys is horrid, 10 interceptions outside the 20's with well below a 75 passer rating.   Another ugly stat that stands out is Cutler, having the most number of interceptions last year (18), that 13 of them were tossed in his own territory with 6 of the 13 in his opponents red zone thereby making it that much easier for opponents to capitalize on his erroneous errors.  That's why the guy is known as "Mr. Turnover Machine" which translates into a losing record in both college and the NFL, which in turn translates into no playoff appearances for Jay Cutler, which in turn translates into one of the biggest choke jobs pulled off by any QB in this modern era in spite of having one of the best O lines in the NFL last year with decent run support ranked roughly mid point in the NFL for rushing yards.

Do you really think Pat Bowlen got the short end of the stick here? Cutler was worthless in Denver except for a bunch of yards between the 20's.  Why in the world do you think he was traded?  It was not just because of his mouth only.   Now, you bears fans think you are going to mop up the NFL with Cutler and he's suddenly going to turn into a winner and win championships which has never happened in his adult life except in high school.

No, you misinterpreted what I wrote.  It happens on message boards, don't worry.

I meant, common sense would mean that if 5 threads still exist saying the Bullocks sucks, there should be at least one thread that still exists saying it was a great move.

I don't doubt there were fans who said, give the guy a chance, or we'll see what happens, or he may have sucked for the pathetic Saints, but now he's on the Bears and may improve with better coaching, etc.

But that's not what you claimed.  You said there were numerous threads exclaiming how great the move was.  Common sense would say that if there were numerous threads back then, there should still be at least ONE that you can find to back up your claim.

Common sense would also say that a person who is apparently notorious for wanting people to provide links or back up claims wouldn't start a thread on a message board and make a claim without having any ability to back up their claim.  So maybe we can't rely on common sense after all!

Ah, ok. So of the threads that DB provided, were those started on March 11th?

No, I don't believe any of them were.  I didn't go through them with a fine-tooth comb, but it looks like the first may have been March 20th or so.

I see your argument, but I still think if there were "numerous" threads claiming it was a great move, you would be able to at least provide the same type of link to even a discontinued thread as you have in the past.

I've been around these boards long enough to realize there are some major yahoos who will post ANYTHING to get a response.  I don't doubt for a minute there may have been one or two posters (who may or may not have been genuinely) excited about the move, but I don't remember seeing "numerous" threads claiming it was a great move.  In fact, you seem to be the only poster who remembers that.

Isn't it possible that you are mistaken?  Or if there were even one or two threads, isn't it possible they were sarcastic?  Or started by rivals or people posing as Bear fans?

Do you remember specific posts, or just threads in general?  Because thread titles can be very misleading.

    But back to your thread:

Wouldn't it have been just as easy to say "I may be mistaken, but I seem to remember some Bear fans being excited about the move."

Then your motivation would not be as easily questioned.  I mean, everyone knows there are iamanidiot fans of EVERY team!  I remember some Packer fan going nuts and even creating/posting a video on Youtube after the Packers drafted Justin Harrell.  Is that indicative of EVERY Packer fan, or even Packer fans in general?  (Although in hindsight, that guy was probably right on the money with regard to Harrell!!)

But, what if Harrell actually wasn't a bust?  What if he had turned out to be good?  Would it be fair for me to go to the Packer message board and start a thread about how dumb all Packer fans are because there were "numerous" videos of them going nuts and spewing idiotic trash about Harrell?

I think we could bring some much needed closure to this topic if you would just admit you exaggerated, that you created a thread to talk some trash, but didn't have anything to back that up, then when you were called on it, your ego wouldn't allow you to back down.  But now, after much debate and discussion, while you still believe you saw some support for the move, your claim of "numerous threads about the greatness of the move" was not accurate.  And that we'll just leave it at "there are some dumb, homer, kool-aid drinking fans of EVERY NFL team who will support a move no matter what" and that you probably are remembering one or two of those posts with regard to this matter.  But that by-and-large most Bear fans on this board seem to have been either apathetic, or at most, cautiously optimistic about the move.

Not so Rockdalian-Rodgers did indeed beat the Bears 37-3 last season.  Favre had nothing to do with that win.

I see your argument, but I still think if there were "numerous" threads claiming it was a great move, you would be able to at least provide the same type of link to even a discontinued thread as you have in the past. Well by that theory there should be numerous anti-Bullocks threads from March 11th that haven't been discontinued. And there apparently aren't.

I've been around these boards long enough to realize there are some major yahoos who will post ANYTHING to get a response.  I don't doubt for a minute there may have been one or two posters (who may or may not have been genuinely) excited about the move, THANK YOU! but I don't remember seeing "numerous" threads claiming it was a great move.  In fact, you seem to be the only poster who remembers that. Do you remember specific posts, or just threads in general? I just remember a few threads. It boggles my mind that people are making this an issue. So some fans liked the move that day. Why is that so hard to believe? There's a certain segment of fans who love EVERY move their team makes.  Because thread titles can be very misleading.

    But back to your thread:

Wouldn't it have been just as easy to say "I may be mistaken, but I seem to remember some Bear fans being excited about the move." I could have said that. But again, I saw the threads. I read them. I opened them because I was curious who the guy was. I'd never heard of him.

Then your motivation would not be as easily questioned. This is where you are very wrong. My motivation for this thread was simple trash talking. No where in that orignal post did I mention anything about seeing those old threads from March. My sole motivation was to trash talk about the guy. That's it!

But don't you think if there were threads started on 3/11/09 claiming the move was great, at least one of them would have been commented on at some point 5 or 10 days later??

Your theory would only work if all of these threads were started and no one posted to them at any point more than a day or two after they were created.

Given the fact that there were at least 5 threads saying the move sucked, I would think someone would have gone to one of those old threads and commented in it.  It just doesn't make sense.

Oh well.  I still think there was more motivation to your thread, but no one can prove that any more than you can prove all of the threads really did exist.
