I heard Monk jumped right over the shark.    Yeah jumped right over him while under water.  The guy can jump.  Period.

Its so wrong to compare these guys. Monk comes out as a junior he would have gone second or third round. He is 6'5" and runs a 4.45.   Caught 27 touchdowns folks, in a real division like Hass, not 87 touchdowns or whatever against Miss Teen Delaware state and the like.  Just because Currie couldn't turn his 4.35 speed on a broken foot into nfl talent, ball and hass couldn't get on the field, etc, doesn't mean we have to dog every seventh round pick and say sure sure sure to anybody that ever gets excited about a guy.

I think Marcus Monk is already a shoe-in for the pro bowl this year, and he should have a place reserved for him in Canton.

And I mean that only half-sarcastically haha :)

please , i heard a rumor that they are planning on inducting Marcus Monk into the HOF by mid season !

    You're both wrong.

They are actually going to re-name it "The Professional Football Hall of Monk" in Marcus, Ohio.

really!  getting his picture on the website is the worst possible thing that could have happened to him.  27 td receptions playing for ARKANSAS UNDER HOUSTON NUTT is like catching playing for florida and catching 50.  i mean this guy had matt jones and casey dick throwing him the ball for 3+ years.  he's 6'6, can probably outjump anybody on the team (great athleticism was also mr. basketball for the state of arkansas), you'll never see him catch a ball with his body, has great character and work ethic, also valedictorian of his high school class so he has mental competance which i think is very undervalued these days.  i'm not sure why everybody hates this guy.  rex grossman gets better treatment on these message boards than this guy and he was a 1st round pick not the 4th to last pick in the entire draft.

Re: The legend of Marcus Monk grows...

I agree... M. Monk has a lot going for him (if one of our QB's gets him some balls) he is a big boy too 6'4" or 6'5" and 222lbs. He rocked as a Razorback and set school records but had to battle a knee injury.

Thats the only thing that set him back in the draft, otherwise he would have been picked up at the end of the first round!

Re: The legend of Marcus Monk grows...

Very nice.  This thread has grown nicely since I left work yesterday.  ;-)

Chuck Norris once tried to kick Marcus Monk in the face.  Marcus Monk caught his leg, ripped it off, and ran with it from New York to Chicago, into the end zone of Soldier Field, just because "he wanted to get a quick run in."

Marcus Monk once plucked a single hair from his beard and skewered 3 lions through the heart with it...not Detroit Lions, but jungle lions.
