Re: What kind of fan are you during Bears games?

I'm going to get my wife to read this thread. She always has accused me of being an absolute iamanidiot when it comes to the Bears. When I'm yelling or throwing things around  the room she questions my sanity. And yes, I absolutely hate the, "It's only a game" stuff.

I've gotten to the point where I only will watch the games with other Bear fans. We usually go to a friends every year for the SB, but in 2006 I stayed home because I couldn't stand the thought of other people at their house rooting against the Bears.

I'm the same way, except when I am at a bar I talk trash to the fans of opposing teams.

my boy smashed a plate in his kitchen after the carolina loss in the playoffs.

last year when orton threw an interception late in the game against the saints, i put my fist through my wall in the basement. caught 1/4 of a stud. hurt like a beyotch.

i dont doubt anyones looniness when it comes to the bears.

At home, I'm throwing couch pillows when something goes wrong...my wife takes the kids and goes to another room. I just say..."hey they're called 'throw pillows' right?!"

I don't enjoy watching the Bears at a bar or with a large group as much...I'm afraid I might miss something! I like to be focused on the action....no outside distractions for Bears games.

Re: What kind of fan are you during Bears games?

Its a madhouse when the bears are on round here. I have tons of jerseys and anyone who comes over to watch the game must don one. I like to wear my favorite one #51 Butkus, home or away depending on where we are. I have a Butkus dog jersey that my dog wears during the game.My wife always makes football snacks and lots of beverages. When the bears lose, I lower the flag to half mast for the rest of the day, then take it down til next week. When they win, I leave it up all week. I'm just a regular Bearfan I suppose.

LOL some great stories here living down in Texas you dont find too many emotional die hards or definitely none like myself here's or you guys here's an example for me...During the Atlanta game last year I was a rollercoaster of emotion and went NUTS when Orton hit Rashied in the back corner for the go ahead score and 11 seconds later as Elams FG went through the upright all HELL broke loose ripped off my necklack launched it against the door picked up this bannana chair I have and threw it across the room at the front door, did a belly flop on the floor(Dont know why I dfid that more just kinda flinging myself on the floor LOL) then drove to the gym at EXCESSIVE SPEEDS and literally went up about 25 lbs on every machine ha it was ridiculous. Heres just a few examples of my insanity through Bears games. In 8th gd I launched something breaking dad's diploma frame, I Robbie Gould kicked a chair through the enitre bar area from one to another after Longwell hit a game winning 50+ yarder against us in 2007 then broke off something punching the bar room door as I exited, broken a few headphones, threatened to drive home from college after one of my best friends from back home reminded me the Falcons had beaten us after the game and beat his I luv my behind, tried to fight every Texans fan after the game last year walking out of the stadium. Like a poster said in a previous thread awhile big though you gotta love big to get big. PS. MarylandBear11 your basement story and some of your other stories had me dying laughin.

LOL. I practically spit out what I was drinking when I read the pillows bit. But yea I am the guy who went nuts when Hester ran it back in the super bowl and practically cried in the falcons loss with practically no time on the board. I get very emotional and also hate it when people say its just a game. A loss doesn't hurt me as much anymore since we lost the super bowl and that was the ultimate one. Kinda took the edge off any future losses. As for it haunting me I can definitely say the day of the loss I will be feeling like crap. After that its likely optimism for the next game.

During games I can get pretty emotional, but once it's wrapped up I'm either quietly satisfied or in a mildly bad mood.

Re: What kind of fan are you during Bears games?

I'm definitely obnoxious when the Bears are playing friends of mines teams. I know people that like the Cowboys, Eagles, Giants, Colts, Packers, Titans, Steelers, Chargers, really just about a quarter of the teams in the league. So when it's that week, I'm trash-talking and doing whatever else. It's all in fun of course.

And actually I'm really nervous during games, especially in 2008 since they were all so close. I usually get them online and try to enjoy them. When I watch with my dad he's too busy cutting up to really keep up with what's going on, but when it's just me? I'm making noise on every play.

    DR.Metal:
I drink During the games and I'll cuss a word or two when we do something dumb or get scored on and I'll holler a bit in delight when we score or make a big play. usually kinda calm during games and when the game is won I celebrate and my mood is heightened for a few days.

if we lose i could break a thing or two if someone says the wrong thing and I'll be in a bad mood thinking about where we lost the game for a few days. The good and bad moods usually just last 2-3 days and then I'm ready for the next game.

I also won't miss a game for any reason and i hate being bothered by stupid questions or by people stupid about football.

Nice sig. I usually blast Metallica's For whom the bell tolls, on gameday mornings on my Bose Ipod dock to get me pumped for the game, because they always play it just before kickoff at Soldier Field...and the guitar riffs from the beginning every time they score along with the siren. Reminds me of being at Soldier Field, I love it.

Haha yea that game was the most angry I've been over a Bears game in a long while, and I hear you dude I was beyond pissed when we decided to squib it, sure our kickoff team allowed a long return on the previous kick but our kick coverage unit had been solid all year and with so little time and little clock being wasted on the squib I didnt like the decision. LOL sounds like me and you turn into kickers with different items when things go bad for our Bears.

I'm a laid back fan......until half time.  Then all bets are off.  Bad officiating infuriates me, and Ron Turner makes me want to rip my hair out.

Bear victories make me very happy.  The losses, not so much...

Fire the coaching staff. Drop the entire offensive line. Drop the entire defense (aside from Briggs). Trade Cutler, Forte, Olsen and Briggs for draft picks. Start over from scratch...

Re: What kind of fan are you during Bears games?

depends on where I am. If i'm by myself, i scream alot. I yell to the players on tv for dumb plays. If i'm watching the game with my friends, then I dont talk alot. i used to talk alot of trash until the Bears kept disappoiting me. If we lose, I avoid ESPN for the whole week, and it's a crappy week altogether
