How about some interesting facts on this season.

Rex Grossman's QB rating dropped a record-setting 19 points after his last game.

Record-setting?  Please provide me a link of this record-setting achievement.

Yep, I heard a quote somewhere last week that indicated it was the biggest one-game drop for a quarterback at this point into the season. It seemed a bit far-fetched to me. But a 19-point drop is conceivable. I'll try and find a link.

Sounds like somebody grasping to take a shot at Grossman.  "At this point into the season"?  "The" season is only 6 or 7 weeks old depending on your by week.  Sounds like you are jumping on this like you did the over-rated Urlacher story.

Don't hate the messenger Wisc.i simply heard and repeated it. You need a thick skin. You have to take the good with the bad.

I was at the grocery store buying eight apples, and the clerk asked me if I would like a bag. And I said, "No, man, I juggle! But I can only juggle eight. If I'm ever here buying nine apples, bag 'em up!"

What you said was a record setting drop in qb rating.  What you heard basically is it is the largest drop of a QB rating this year to date.  That may be true and there is a big difference.  I hardly felt like Grossman's QB rating was going to stay that high for the entire year anyway.  He still has not started the equivalent of one full NFL season and is learning every week.

For the record, QB rating is not that important anyway.  I will take victories to date over a high QB rating every day of the week.  For the record, he is 6-0 year to date.

Also, I do not hate the messenger.  Cheers.

P.S don't think I did not notice your 1 star rating of this thread...

Re: weakone- new Standings thread just for you

What I heard was it was the biggest drop ever - not just this season. But like you said, wins are more important.

I just hovered my cursor over the star ratings bar. It doesn't look like I rated this thread... yet. But I'll try to give it a 1. Hang on.

You're right. I already rated it. I can't imagine giving it a five. So I must have given it a one.

I cannot believe that it was highest drop ever- no way.  You probably heard that from somebody who is about as credible as wardi or twelvechimpsupchucking.  C'mon fess up, who said it Steve the Homer True, Big Unit from Milw radio, Dan "I Hate The Bears" Needles?

Re: weakone- new Standings thread just for you

I don't listen to sports radio anymore - not since Howard Stern came on Sirius. It was either ESPN or NFL network. But most likely it was ESPN News. They said it was the biggest drop from one game to the next - for this point in the season, which I assume means game #5 to game #6.

All that proves is that there are simply way too many stats available to talking heads.

Hey wart- I checked nfl.com and they still have not added championships won in the standings.    Suggest you IM IHTB and see if he can organize a Million Man Packer "owners" march to get it added.   Good luck.

    Justin Gage huh!!

IHTB,  I told you so on many things... have been right most of the time.

The Packers are not as bad as it seems.  They will need time to gel offensively.  I am a little confused by their defense, thought it was better than what they have shown.  Favre should have retired, he really is hurting the future of the team by being out there, namely the development of Rodgers... I guess Favre has earned it but he really is in a no win situation.  With what he has to work with he is just not in a position to succeed.  The Packers really need to find out if Rodgers can play.  If they wait too long and find he is not good it will push them back even further in their attempt to turn it around.  Shermie has done so much damage to the talent of that team... should have listened to Plank and I and called that owners meeting years ago....cheers.

I can't argue with any of that. I don't think Favre needs to retire though. But he's simply no longer a fit in Green Bay. The Packers should trade him, while they can still get something for him. Favre can still play. But he needs talent to play with.

Favre own's the packers...He's grandfathered in...You can't replace him now...He just might turn the team around...even head to the playoffs this year...and if not he certainly will next year...or even the year after that...I see him owning the packers for a long time....Who is this Rodgers guy your talking about.?..Is that Favre's grandson..?  Even he will have white hair by the time Good ole Brett deside's to sell's his team...If he deside's...He just can't seem to make up his mind these days...I wonder if it's that oldtimers thing going around.
