Hebrew National is no where near a Vienna. Bests Kosher is a solid second, follwed by Sabretts and Nathans.

I hate catsup on dogs. I was the kinda of guy that only liked hot dogs either Chicago Style or mustard only....with grilled onions if Im at a Sox game but then I went to Tucson, AZ and they got some flame Hot Dogs. They are Sonora, Mex Style, they dont sound good at all but let me tell you, they are the next best thing to a Chicago style. First you got a hot dog wrapped in bacon inside a really good bun. Not a regular hot dog bun these are different. Then come the trimmings, mustard, grilled onions, tomato, .......here is where it gets weird.....mayo, and some home made hot sauce. Trust me they dont sound good but they are delishhhhhh.

I'm nowhere near the Chicago-style dogs. I only put ketchup on mine. Maybe some relish, that's about it, though.

DO "dress the dog," not the bun.

DO serve sesame-seed, poppy-seed and plain buns with hot dogs.

DO eat hot dogs on buns with your hands. Utensils should not touch hot dogs on buns.

DO use paper plates to serve hot dogs. Everyday dishes are acceptable; china is a no-no.

DO serve mustard, relish, onions, cheese and chili as topping options.

DO lick off — not wash off — any condiments remaining on the fingers after eating a hot dog.

DO use multicolored toothpicks to serve cocktail wieners. Cocktail forks are in poor taste.

DO put down your hot dog while singing the national anthem.

DON'T put hot-dog toppings between the hot dog and the bun. (Condiments should be applied in the following order: Wet condiments such as mustard and chili are applied first onto the dog, not the bun, followed by chunky condiments such as relish, onions and sauerkraut, followed by shredded cheese, followed by spices such as celery salt or pepper.)

DON'T serve sun-dried tomato buns or basil buns, which are considered gauche with franks.

DON'T serve fresh herbs on the same plate with hot dogs.

I pretty much agree with the above Do's and Dont's........

However, I would lower the acceptable age from 18 to 12.  By the time you become a teenager, you should stop watching Wrestling and stop putting Ketchup on Hot Dogs.

I would also like to add that Celery Salt is probably the most important ingredient on a Chicago Style Hot Dog.  I see this key topping missing at too many Tailgate Parties!

My favorites are Koshers Best, Hebrew National and Vienna.

There's nothing wrong with eating a hot dog once in a while nor is there anything wrong with noticing what's all-to disgusting. And tofu is for vegetarians.

Follow those directions as close as you can and you will have one good dog. I prefer Best's Kosher over Vienna Beef for the flavor and snap.
