Chicago-style......cole slaw and jalapenos
What part of Chicago are you from?
Back to the original question- only a Philistine would put ketchup on a hot dog.
His profile says Austin, Texas.
I saw that, but a lot of people move from here. Cole slaw and jalapenos?
O.k sorry this took so long, as I read it today. I lived 2 hours South of Chicago for 29 years. There is a stand (german named) that memory and beer fails me on the name right around the corner from the NBC studios. I apologize if its not traditional Chicago styled. I would come into town for games, and found this place one day about 13 years ago, and never went anywhere else if I was in town. They came (default) with tomatoes, cold kr.out,(ha! it bleeped it!) (which is essentially cabbage) onions and peppers. now, the jalapeno and slaw confusion, yes my bad. we had a Weiner Works in my hometown (outside of Champaign) that served "Chi-style" with said ingredients so I that's how I got confused I've only been in ATX for 2 years And the Benson stuff when it went off last summer (being here in the thick of it) priceless I apologize
i'm tired of resizing pics. Please see the rules of having pride for your team.

Good book out by Bob Schwartz called "Never Put Ketchup on a Hot Dog"... foreword by Joe Mantenga.
Don't like North but he's absolutely right about Dog etiquette....

Re: Ketchup on a hot dog???
loviesloyals:I'm sure that most of you have heard Mike North rant about people putting ketchup on hot dogs. He even goes as far as calling it un-american. I don't usually do it but every now and then I enjoy a little ketchup on my hot dog. I was just curious about what you guys thought about it.
I like ketchup on my hot dogs unless their is chili sauce involved, then it is strictly mustard.

I'm the dude playin the dude, disguised as another dude. Robert Downey Jr.-Tropic Thunder. All I want the Bears to do in 2009 is eat lightning and crap thunder, Is that really to much to ask? If Big Govt. can give the people everything it needs or wants then it is big enough to take it all away.

Looks like the old Acme Packer Co. from the 1920's, I bet they don't even put celery salt in their dogs like Vienna or even recommend Rosens poppy seed buns.
