So it was a conspiracy by the NFL to have Brett go out on top? And that's why he had a good year?

I'm saying it was a stretch to give him MVP status. The media still thinks it's 1996.

Not according to his performance in 2007.

Yeah, he looked real good blowing that playoff game.

And that means he sucked for the whole season?

Your pal wardi says "Championships are all that matter".

Waht good does it do to have a great season if you blow it for your team when it counts?

Will you ever learn that having a GREAT SEASON and making the PLAYOFFS is not "blowing it".  Having a BAD season and making the cellar WOULD be "blowing it".

    Sorry Geno,

But having your number one obstacle to a Super Bowl trip knocked off so that you now have home field advantage to play a Wild Card team who you then lose to when the  greatest QB to ever set foot on a football field (At least according to Green Bay fans) throws a pass that should never have been thrown is BLOWING IT.

Maybe some thought that before the season, I don't know.  Everyone said the Cowboys were going to the NFCCG and the SB.  That is all I heard.

Like I said, I told everyone Brett would screw it up.  Even told a few he will throw an interception at a critical part of the game, lol.  And he did.  It was great.  Won some money that day.

Throwing a pick in overtime of the NFCCG is "blowing it" especially if you are supposed to be this "mega hero" QB.  That's REALLY blowing it.

Which QB blew the Championship game? Yeah, we all know who did that.   But no bears QB "blew" anything. It was bad luck, injuries, and a poor personell desision that wrecked the Bear's season.

I guess coming up short because of the ineptitude of your most beloved player is so common in GB, you consider that season a Wonderful" thing.

I shouldn't argue, as a Bear fan Favre's "fold in the cold" was a joy to watch.

Nice Packer two-step. The point is you made it to the playoffs, the number one seed had lost and the only thing standing between the Packers and a chance at Championship 13 was to win at home against the Wild Card team.  I think it’s great you Packer fans drink the “We’re just happy to have gotten there” Kool-Aid by the gallon, but I don’t remember seeing any headlines that proclaimed,” Overachieving Packers lose in Playoffs.”  If Favre had for once decided to not be the hero and force a pass he had no business throwing, it might have been the Packers upsetting New England in the SB.

If the Packer’s are satisfied with being the Avis of the NFC then more power to them.

If winning the Super Bowl every year would be the only measuring stick of success-than some bear fans must be awfully depressed.  Even great teams with great QB's don't win the Super Bowl every year.  The Packers had a fabulous season last year despite what a handful of bear fans might say.  Not many teams make it as far as the NFC Championship games.  Only the best of teams get that far.  I would still be happier making it to that game, win or lose, than end up at the bottom of the division the year after a Super Bowl appearance.  Lots of people seem to forget which team was predicted to be at that game before the season statrted.  The Bears were the ones who went from the Super Bowl to the cellar.  I think that's more disappointing than losing an NFC Championship game no one thought the Packers would get to in the first place.  It's not the Packer fans drinking the Kool-Aid.  We don't need it.

Stay focused Geno. The debate has never been about the Super Bowl being the only measuring stick to success. The debate was weather Favre and the Packers blew their season by imploding on their home field in the NFC Championship to the Giants. It is comical that when the Bears blew up in 2006 you Packer fans were all over this board gloating about how the Bears and especially Grossman sucked because they lost the SB. Now that the shoe is on the other foot it is all of a sudden not about the losing but is now focused on the old,” We’re just glad we made it here to lose” defense.

Perhaps if the Bears had been given that same consideratio
