IHTB has agreed to bet $20 with me who will have the better regular season record, Pack or Bears.
Nothing like a free lunch.
Congrats IHTB. Since you'll have an extra $20, how about lunch on you after the season?
As much as I hate to say it, IHTB might just have $20 to spend on lunch.
I'll go first
Green Bay 10-6 Chicago 8-8 Detroit 8-8 Minnesota 7-9
Packer Gag:"ESPN Interview. Puker Coach Mike McCarthy gets asked how the Packers will do next season....McCarthy says 'well perhaps 6-10 or 7-9, you know Favre has quit so it might be tough'. Lovie Smith is asked how the Bears will do next season....Lovie says 'Well it has to be 16-0 and WIN the Superbowl by at least 40-50 points...and Forte will break 2,500 yards and Orton will throw for well over 50td's, and I can see Bryant catching at least 150 passes. ESPN reporter says 'Lovie you are getting a bit carried away eh!'....Lovie says...'he started it''

I would love to say the Bears 12-4 and the playoffs, but unless the Bears D suddenly returns to the Rivera 2005 days, I'm just a tad concerned about our run D. I don't think the Kitties and Vikings are anything to worry about. Rogers will do enough to ensure the Packers win the division.
Man, oh man do I hope I wrong....

Wow. We're actually not too far in disagreement. I was going to wait until Wisc posted his. But what the hell. Here's my guess.
Green Bay 10-6 Detroit 8-8 Chicago 6-10 Minnesota 5-11
ROLL ON THUNDER SHINE ON LIGHTNING THE DAYS ARE LONG AND THE NIGHTS ARE FRIGHTENING NOTHING MATTERS ANYWAY AND THAT'S THE HELL OF IT I was at the grocery store buying eight apples, and the clerk asked me if I would like a bag. And I said, "No, man, I juggle! But I can only juggle eight. If I'm ever here buying nine apples, bag 'em up!"

Spoken like a true Homer. GB has no QB's. The defense is questionable. Chicago has not one but TWO winning QB's, and don't think for a minute that you saw the real Bear's defense in preseason. Hester will be back doing returns, so the O will usually have a short field. Grossman may be benched, but Orton surprised me. He was hitting recievers and looking sharp.
I don't see Detroit going 8-8 either. Minnesota could be tough, Chicago has a chance, but GB and Detroit are going to be fighting each other as bottom feeders.
Either way Geno, you better set up a GB shrine and pray to whatever you believe in that GB doesn't come in last, because after your obsession with the Bear's fluke season last year, we will NEVER let you hear the end of it. The team (so far) is healthy, so don't count on the Bears coming in last again.

Lots of useless ramblings (again) but no prediction. I already know how confident you are in the bears. You ran away from even a signature bet as fast as you could (understandably). The season is now upon us so we will soon see who is right. AGAIN, I am saying that Green Bay will have a better season than Chicago. Where are your predictions Bassman? Please post them so I can go back and post them again later. How about that signature bet-PLEASE? You seem quite confident your bears will do well. How about it?

Like I said before (and you refused to listen) is that I NEVER bet on ANYTHING, especially with a cyber child who claims everything he doesn't agree with is a LIE.
And while trying to "predict" what will happen in any sport is like nailing Jello to a tree, I DID say what I thought MIGHT happen, if you choose to read the whole post. You have no proven QB's Geno. I know that's tough for a Packer fan to admit, but Drama Boy is GONE. Your team DIDN'T WANT HIM BACK. If Rodgers should be injured, which is NOT outside the realm of possibility, then who have you got?
Your defense is iffy at best. The Bears D obviously laid back in preseason, and Hester was not used as a return man to see who else we've got.
THAT'S WHAT PRESEASON IS FOR.
The real season will be very different. Don't think for a minute that the Packers are in anything but "rebuilding" mode. This should make you happy since it should have started three years ago, but Favre wouldn't give up and let it happen.
Favre is gone, the Packers are now just another small town team that most of the country could care less about.

Of all the teams in the NFC North, Green Bay could have the best start with the division games, Chicago have 2 tough road games. If the Pack slip up in their first 2 games and the Bears get a road win and go 1-1 we might a real fight on our hands for the division.

A small town team that won the division and went to the NFC Championship game last season while the big city team landed in the cellar. Cyber child? You're the one infatuated with Barney and Neverland. My teams defense is "iffy" while yours did badly only because "they laid back" in preseason. Sounds like someone talking out of both ends here Bassman. We shall soon see who the better team is. I only wonder what your excuse will be. Bad referees, conspiracy, cheating, bad luck, Orton had a hangnail-who knows what you'll come up with. A signature bet would have cost you NOTHING. However, you know what's soon to come so you'll use name calling and everything else to avoid the embarrasment you would have had with the signature bet. I'm not "scared" why are you? Drama Boy > Bench Boy NFC Championship Game > Cellar

A small town team that won the division and went to the NFC Championship game last season while the big city team landed in the cellar.
Don't depend on injuries this year. In fact, GB might be the team the injury bug lands on.
Cyber child? You're the one infatuated with Barney and Neverland.
Nice try, but you act like a child. I call em like I see em.
My teams defense is "iffy" while yours did badly only because "they laid back" in preseason. Sounds like someone talking out of both ends here Bassman.
Not at all. I'm talking aboout what the HEALTHY defenses do in the REGULAR season. GB's is not that good. The bears are VERY good when all the starters are healthy. Again, don't depend on injuries to save you again this year.
We shall soon see who the better team is. I only wonder what your excuse will be. Bad referees, conspiracy, cheating, bad luck, Orton had a hangnail-who knows what you'll come up with.
No excuses, just facts. The bears D was hit hard by the injury bug last year. It happens, but again, don't depend on it to make your team look better. It MIGHT be your turn, especially with Rodgers starting.
A signature bet would have cost you NOTHING. However, you know what's soon to come so you'll use name calling and everything else to avoid the embarrasment you would have had with the signature bet. I'm not "scared" why are you?
Scared doesn't enter into it, I just think it's a foolish waste of time. And YOU started namecalkine in your previous post. I didn't miss the tiny "B" on Bassman.
Drama Boy > Bench Boy
Benched > Run off the team.
NFC Championship Game > Cellar
Going to a Super Bowl > Blowing the NFCCG with a stupid (but typical) pick
Big "Jr" is watching you! The Dude abides...

Wow. We're actually not too far in disagreement. I was going to wait until Wisc posted his. But what the hell. Here's my guess.
Green Bay 10-6 Detroit 8-8 Chicago 6-10 Minnesota 5-11
Here's my guess. Green Bay 10-6 Minnesota 8-8 Detroit 8-8 Chicago 5-11
