No kidding on the Buehrle sentiment.

But what really eats my lunch is that, while in my opinion anyway, the Twins are a BAAAAD team, yet every game against 'em, Sox always have trouble with them.

    Yeah, little piranhas.

In the meantime, I just noticed there was a little scuffle yesterday at the Red Sawx/Rays game. Manny and Youkilis even got in a jawwing match later. Somewhat entertaining.

Oh yeah, that was a good one.  Coco Crisp looked like he knew what he was doing.  Dodged the pitchers punch and then counter punched.  One on one he would have knocked that dude silly.

Really, who thought Buehrle was going to be the weak link.  BIG series against the tweekies this weekend.  Need 2 out 3 to make a statement.

Sunday update: Up 12-1 after 5. I'd say we made a statement alright.

I'm declaring this series a :sweep:

That Tigers series was the best. I especially loved the part where they scored 6 runs in 3 games. C'mon Oz, time for another outburst.

Running cold again and hate it.  But, hopefully we can get back on track with rockies and pirates next 6 games before the face off with the flubs.

Well, I don't know. Those are some bad teams, and we all know how a good number of bad times give the Sox fits. Didn't the Sox lose a seires to the Buckos last year?

    Exhibit A: Detroit Tigers.

Yeah, don't count our chickens before they're hatched.  After the twins sweep I got a little ahead of myself.

Just when you think we're out of the woods batting-wise another case of "Which End Of The Bat Do I Use, Again?" begins and the "Fire Greg Walker" cries go up again.  With Konerko's hand (and some kind of chest injury now?) and Thome looking like crap (he looks completely outmatched a LOT these days) it's time to start making changes before this thing gets out of control.  Get some nuts Ozzie and bench those two.  Bring up Fields or let Anderson DH.  Trotting out those .200 averages time after time is getting way old.

No way!  He's finally showing some batting strength and defensely he's a huge plus in center except Ozzie has something against him.  I'd rather dump Thome.

Well, at least Konerko will be getting some time off via his DL stint and we'll be seeing some other players in the lineup. Hopefully when PK comes back, he'll pick up the slack.

As for Fields, it's sad to see him rotting down in the mirros. Would be nice to see him brought up, but I don't think benching Thome or whoever isn't a realistic scenario. I mean, he DID smack a useless 3-run homer against the Buckos yesterday...notice how he couldn't come through earlier when the game was still knotted up (or losing, can't remember) and he had bases juiced? It's like there's a switch in his head: "Oh, we're up by 5+ runs, NOW I can jack it."

And Anderson, yeah, I'd like to see him continuing to get PT. I'm still in love with the man's D, and that alone would give him a chance to play for my squad.

Re: Official 2008 White Sox thread

I hear that Fields has a knee injury, but don't know the extent.  Papers say Wise and Anderson will share center field.

You called it on Thome. When the game is on the line he'll most likely crap the bed.  I hate to dump on a guy with over 500 dingers, but it's a case of what have ya done for me lately.
