28 years for me. Loving every minute of it.
GO BEARS IN 2008 AND BEYOND ! ! ! ! ! ! ! !
My entire life which is 36 yrs now!!!
My GGrandfather was the first Bear Fan. He was 25 when Halas moved the Staley's to Chicago. He was a fan right away.

Been a Bears fan since I was old enough to form my own opinions on what teams I like. Became a Bears fan in the 85 season when I was 7 years old.
Growing up in Erie, everyone is either a Steelers fan or a Browns fan. It gets shoved down your throat. Most of my friends were (are) Steelers fans. I got so sick of hearing about the Steelers, and to a lesser extent, the Browns, that I decided I wanted to root for a team that nobody around here really cheered for. Since I loved Walter Payton, the Bears became an obvious choice. Stuck by their side ever since then!
So, roughly 22 years I have been a Bears fan.
Packer Fan:"Any intelligent Bears fan knows that the Packers suck."
ive been a bears fan for nearly 25 years, but ive bled orange and navy since i was 10 and sat on the tunnel in the old soldiers field on a very cold january in 1988, for walters last game. Its amazing because i don't understand fans born in the mid to late 80s-- why are they fans? the 90s and lately there hasn't been that much to cheer about-- i was 7 when they won the superbowl, i remember the Black and Blues brothers, and the Fridge, Mongo, the Coronel, and Hamp-- These guys today will never be as special as the old guard. Can someone exlpain this to me? If your born after 1985... why do you love the beloved?
Ole69:since '85 when I was 11. Got to go to SB XX
That must have been awesome!!!!
My parents are visiting us in TX this week, and my dad and I watched SB XX yesterday. It was fun remeniscing with him. It almost felt like I was 17 again and we were watching it live!
I've been cheering on the Bears since a certain Hall of Fame MLB AND Hall of Fame running back were both drafted in the first round the same year..
Been a fan for since 1953 so it looks like 55 years. Now I really feel old.

I thought Singletary wasn't drafted 'til '81??? Are you telling me he played from 1975-1992???
Just kidding...I know you're talking about the Kansas Comet.
I'd like to say I've been a Bears fan my whole life, which would put me at being a fan since 1980, but my memories of cheering for them only start sometime in the '86 season...RIGHT AFTER the most memorable season any one team has ever had. (I purchased DVD copies of the original game broadcasts two Christmases ago because watching the NFL Films highlight video of 1985 approximately 4,634 times as I was growing up just didn't satiate my desire to watch the Monsters of the Midway.) I still remember crying after they lost to the Redskins in Walter's last game, knowing I had just watched the end of a legendary career.
As for another poster's question about how it's possible that anyone born after 1985 could possibly be a Bears fan, I'll take a stab at answering that, since, again, I started following them in '86...I think a lot of people--including myself--take "fan" in its original connotation, as being short for "fanatic". A fanatic wouldn't stop cheering for the Bears when they were dreadful in the 90's, or when they kept bringing in inept quarterback after lousy quarterback after incompetent quarterback, or when they followed up 2001's overachieving season with 2002's 4-12 clunker...a fanatic wouldn't stop cheering for the Bears EVER. So if you were raised as a Bears fan, that mentality stays with you, regardless of the fact that the only time you've watched them play in the Super Bowl may have been in that uber-disappointing loss to the Colts last year.
A fan never quits on his team. I'm a Bears fan through-and-through, and I'll NEVER quit cheering for those guys, no matter WHAT.
I can remember watching Doug Buffone, Dick Butkis and others. That was 72 or so. Pretty much since then.
About 25 yrs now.my first game ever was in 85 when we lost to miami.i cried like a little baby after that loss.my uncle who is from gurnee took me to that game and said after we loss that nobody will deny us this year, from winning it all.i wish we would have played miami in SB XX to get some revenge back but all that mattered to me is that we won it all.i would have to say after the skins loss in walters last game was really bad for me,it was the end of the greatest football player ever to play,i just wished we could of did it one more time and get walter that TD that he deserved more than anybody that wore a bears uniform.GO BEARS.

bearmick:I'm totally up for this innovative tight end stuff. Eventually there should be a formation with just a center, a QB, and 9 tight ends. Who knows what the hell is coming from that formation. We need to draft tight end with every draft pick next year. Screw the Dolphins wildcat nonsense. Next year will be the Bears' "Tight Ends Are Coming To Get Ya You Just Don't Know Which One" formation. No-one will have an answer for it.
