Harry is the reason I became a Cub fan back in 83 when we first got cable and WGN.

Oh yes they did!  Before Harry was hired away by the Cubs in '82, he was the White Sox announcer from '71-'81.  Harry started the tradition of singing "Take Me Out to the Ballgame" during the 7th inning stretch @ Sox games long before he every went to Wrigley Field... 

 

 

OK, I stand corrected.  I knew he had been with the Cardinals, but not with the Sox.  But there is still that stupid "designated hitter" nonsense, for which I will never follow an American League team.

Sounds like jealousy because the AL dominates the NL in interleague play...

CUBS fans don't care about SOX fans, really.

That's part of the Cubs fans odd elitist mentality - because what they have to feel superior about, I'll never know.

When the Cubs were in the playoffs a few years back, all I heard from White Sox fans was, "All right Cubbies, GO!"  We had honest fraternal good wishes for our North Side brethern to do well, to go all the way.  But when the Sox went on their World Series run a bit later, I couldn't believe the venom and ill-will coming from up North - right up to the Cubs manager.  It was very sad to hear...

Speaking only for myself, you would be wrong.  I like Orton for consistency, but Grossman for potential.  The problem is, he's only been consistant in being inconsistant.

That is what made me hate the SOX fans, when Da Cubbies made the WS run, the hatred oozed from the South Side. Heck, I still see jokes about it online everyday. Sox fans are one step above tOSU fans when it comes to being 'brethren'.

I neither root for or against the SOX, I honestly don't care.
I can't think of any Cubs fans I know who do either.

This may have been more common before the sox won the world series, but since then, many sox fans view the cubs with a collective "meh"

the cubs are like a kid at the pool who wants his parents to watch him dive like it is the biggest thing in the world, but in reality the parents couldn't care less
