Defensive nightmare tonight, but still winable.  Buehrle deserved better.  2 out of 3 on the road is still ok though.  Hope for the same in texas.

In the park homer was terrible man, I never seen a player look so clueless.

PK really didnt need to hurry back.. No plate presence and he messed up on the double play ball

    winnable game, NEXT!

    Hmph...Konerko...continues to struggle...blah...

Big props to Carrasco yesterday. Filled in admirably after Floyd's dismal outing.

Hopefully Danks brings his A game tonight. I always feel iffy when the Sox go up against Millwood.

Re: Official 2008 White Sox thread

Konerko had it yesterday...they scored 9 runs on 16 hits which is good to see.  The bullpen made it pretty scary at the end but they are playing in Texas against a good offense so I'm not worried.

AJ got hit pretty bad and isn't playing today.  Any word on his status?

Konerko is back to his horrible self.  6-0 w/ NINE LOB.   Relief looked like crap.  Hate losing a game like this just before the break, but at least we're still in 1st.

Ouch.  Not a pretty game.  The White Sox board is insanity.

So close, yet so far.  Can't believe we got 22 hits and lost.

Psst, starting pitching...what the hell's going on?

On another note, I knew Josh Hamilton was doing great this season, but I finally got a look at his updated numbers--good Lord.

Yes, but like the optimistic person that I am, it was nice to see them fighting 'til the end.

    ...

Nah, that's still not good enough for me. What a bad game. More poor fielding and pitching. C'mon guys, pick it up in the 2nd half.

Wow, anyone see the All Star Game? Holy crap, I kept saying "I'll hit the gym after this game". I think I finally got there at 1:30 AM.

Very exciting game, but also frustrating. NL was making some nice plays to keep the game going. I think I read Selig say that the game would've kept going until a run came across. I'm sure Kazmir's happy Young finally came through.

So the Cubs will be playing game 1 of the World Series at The Cell then, eh?  Dan Uggla should have won the MVP for the American League.

Too bad Quentin didn't hit a game winner.  That would have been sweet.

Shhhhh, you'll jinx it, Mike! I know what you really meant to say was "so the Pirates will be at Kaufman Stadium for game 1 of the WS?"

I beat Uggla felt pretty salty after that game. But he shouldn't lose confidence over it. It's only an ASG.

Nah, just during a Royals game. Sox gave up an inside the park HR. Very disappointing stuff.

Meanwhile, Sox starting pitching continues to look like sh*t.

    Contreras on DL.

What a crap series with the mighty Royals.  I'll state the obvious.  We are in 1st because of our pitching--starting, middle and end.  I rag on the hitting of some players, but it don't matter if Ozzy keeps playing a spent Konerko if the opponents are putting 7-8-9 runs against us.

I believe AJ's trying to be "hip"...maybe he'll show up with some frosted tips next time.

Anyway, first off, it's great to see Jenks back the closer role. Secondly, Ramirez's little scoop flip to a nice barehand Paulie catch at first...thing of beauty. Finally, Los Quentin continuing to come up with HUGE hits for the Sox. Entertaining game, but still too many runs being given up. Hopefully it's just on account of Texas having a filthy offense.

Hester is back in camp, all's right with the world and I can go back to concentrating on both da Bears and da Sox.  Al, that scoop throw by Ramirez is going to be on the highlight reel for a long, long time.  I love that kid!

Back on the road again with what will be a brutal 7 games with our two main rivals Det. and MN.

    GO SOX!!!!!!!

Yeah, I don't know how Kenny pulled off signing Ramirez in the off-season because there were so many teams courting his services. Methinks Jose Contreras ultimately convinced him.

And how bout that Tigers game??? First, down 4-1, some aggressive play (particularly O-Cab who's one helluva gamer) helps them to get it tied. Sadly, struggling Masset gives up the lead the very next inning. But then top 9, with 2 outs, Q down 0-2, gets himself an opposite field signle only to give JD to do what he does best. It's also great to see Jenks back.

You hear Hawk? I really thought he might've had a stroke at the end of the game. That was exciting.

I really need to get the mlb package because espn Baseball Tonight showed 15 min of NY\Bos coverage 10 Minutes of Cubs and 20 seconds of the White Sox comeback win.
