Re: A message from Mr. " sweet " piniella

Stereotypes have a portion of truth to them. Which stereotypes do you speak of? California being loaded with joy-boys? Cubs fans being casual? Sorry about the California comments, but I absolutely HATE California and the people that live. I'm always wondering when that place will sink in the ocean. It's a disgrace to this great country.

You know what the difference between my attacks on yours are? You're supposedly a family man and I'm a college student. Yeah, I know I'm immature (I can see this), but here you are sinking down to my level....good job, your kids have a good mentor in that.

If I said you never went to another stadium that would also mean you've never been to Wrigley correct? What a dolt.

My sexuality? What? You're questioning that on the internet...yep, an internet tough guy. I better apologize in advance so you don't give me an an @ss-whooping via email. Who's Rico? Where'd you get that name? Was he from past college experiences???

All those garbage historical stats you gave mean absolute squat. It's like continuing to brag about the '85 Bears. Get me some new material.

    I work at a bank. I major in accounting. That's a bum?

Yeah, I'd be willing to make to say the same about the incomes as well. And you're truly a retard if you actually believe the Cubs have always been selling seats throughout the their history. Again, know-nothing. Of course they've been going in recent years, I mentioned the 80s and 70s you flippin' moron.

Hey, not much I can comment on with regards to a team from the early 20th century--I was only born in '86 so that means nothing to me. However I can comment on the fact that baseball players back then earned squat, and fixing games, making bets was very much realistic at that time. Yeah, the Sox and Reds were caught, but you'd have to be pretty naive if you believe that was the only game fixed during that era.

Hey, glad you completely dodged my whole section about Cub fan incidents. Way to dodge the topic, Barack. But it's nice to see you make an incident involing 2 fans and 1 coach seem worse than a whole section of fans, and an entire team bench.

Protest...now, I could be wrong, but wouldn't it be a better "protest" idea to NOT show up to games? Yeah, go there, spend your money, then b*tch. Cubs are still getting cash by your poor protest attempts, why change what they do? Cubs' top brass is smart.

Real Cubs fans didn't support what happened to him. Wow, looked to me the whole stadium was up in arms after what he did. Guess there were no "real" Cubs fans there. Yep, like I said, casual bandwagon fans.

I don't care for the Cubs, but I know an awful lot about the team. Why? Cause I love baseball. I watch whatever I can get. I don't hate the Cubs, I just hate they're obnoxious fanbase.

April actually has good attendance numbers.

Once again back to the inferiority complex and popularity. How many times do I have to point out I don't care which team has more fans, recognition? YOU keep resorting back to it. Dumb Californian, get back to hugging your tree.

If you think your 7 year old argues better, you must be raising one hell of a moron.

Back to the basics, you f*cking iamanidiot, I talk about the overall Sox and Cubs season, not the f*cking IL series. God damn, you're slow. But hey, glad you didn't care to comment on any of the Interleague Series talk I was mentioning.

Crutch for pitchers so learn to hit like everyone else? Showing you're baseball smarts again. Pitchers DONT learn to hit, they learn to bunt--hence, easy out. THATS it. So let's review about the different eras then. The AL adapted and made changes, while the NL continued to live in the past. Yeah, we got a lot more runs these days, but guess what there's still a load of dominant pitchers in the game. The DH was implemented to help balance that, and it did.

Holy cow, putting words in my mouth. I never said the ASG was dominanted, all I said was the AL won, yet again. However, the IL series was dominated by the AL. If you look at the NL's overall record, the winning % is equivalent to that of a 4th place team.

Childish debate. I mentioned at the beggining of the thread: "Crack and Sox goes hand in hand much like the men in Wrigley field". You proceed to mash the topic into questioning my sexuality? You're right, this is childish, but at least I can admit when I'm being immature (hell, if you ventured out of the Rivals Section, you'd I like to goof around a lot in threads).

What have I learned: a Cubs fans can't debate baseball, California people are retards...

...wait, I already knew all this.

How do the Sox have bragging rights after a 3-3 split and the Cubs having the better record?

    Wow, no ones bragging.

It said in the first post in this thread "It's about time ol Lou recognizes who has the bragging rights in Chicago."

Guess that slipped by you, eh "genius?"

I'm still waiting to hear how with a 3-3 spilt and the Cubs having a better record how the Sox have "bragging rights". Keep in mind it is 2008 and not 2005. Stay in the now, dude.

....and you can't answer that, can you? Not unless you post stupid links, pics and fantasyland BS.

    Hilarious.

Yep, that line did slip past me.

So...if the line slipped by me, that would mean I wouldn't know there's someone discussing bragging rights between the Cubs and Sox, correct? Doesn't matter, that's all irrelevant. The only place where I say Sox have bragging rights is because they still have a very solid record and play against far better competition. But it's obvious you can't understand what I've been saying the entire time.

You just said "it's not '05, but '08".....in the previous post you were glamoring about titles and championships your grandparents might've seen...yeah, but us Sox fans are the ones living in the past. And "dude"? Hahahahahahaha, you stupid old hipster dofus.

Take a bit of your own advice: "Stay in the now, DUDE". Hahahahaha, whatever Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure.

Re: A message from Mr. " sweet " piniella

Wow, you're a whopping moron . Thanks for responding like I knew you would. If you're the future of this country, I shudder to think what complete buffoons will soon be able to vote and hold jobs. How'd you make college being this childish and stupid...?

Where to start........such zingers you come up with. Again, you're boring and lacking in originality. Your posts are just barely above rambling nonsense.

"Joyboys?" Did Rico teach you that too? Rico is your friend, not mine, junior.

Hey, I can insult and talk in your native tongue all I need to (e.g. childish insults and stereotypes) so I'm just trying to keep it in terms I know you'll understand.

If I'm a casual, know nothing fan. You're a unemployed drug addict thug who beats his wife and *** child before a game. Now that the stereotype BS is out of the way..........

"Garbage historical stats" vs. fantasy BS about the Illinois series being dominated by the AL? There are TWO teams in IL. The Cubs and the Sox and they split the series. If you want to talk about how much better the on base average is or how much faster and accurate the Sox pitching was then I'll lump you in the same group of idiots that lose a game and comfort themselves on how much better thier team was yet still lost.

Where were you talking about interleage at all outside the Chicago series? IL series is what you repeated over and over. You also said the AL was dominate and mentioned the ASG which again, if the AL was so much better should have ended in 9 innings and been a blowout. The two leagues aren't as far apart as you'd like to think. The AL has the edge stat wise but again, we were talking about the IL series not overall interleague matchups. If you're abbreviating interleague with IL than OK. I took IL as Illinois. My misunderstanding. Next time be more clear. Oh, I forgot, I'm a know nothing Cubs fan and should have caught this...?

You mean the Cubs never always sold out the stadium? Gee whiz, thanks for that info. Next you'll tell me Harry Carry used to announce for the Sox. (I already know this, f*ckwit.) You did mention the 70s and 80s and then mentioned Lee Alias rant which I said was better suited to Soxfans. Stay with me, junior.

Yeah, real Cubs fans didn't support what happened to Bartman and the Bartman BS is as old and "irrelevant" as the stats I brought to the table according to you so to you I'll say, move on and get some new material.

You are a fairweather fan, period. Again, tell me how your "genius" idea helped the Sox in 86 years. Answer = it didn't and this is yet another BS stereotype to hide the fairweather fanbase that is Sox nation.

I didn't dodge anything about incidents at Wrigley. Care to gloss over again the fact the Sox fans jumped the rail years in a row to welcome a visiting manager? ....and that Sox fans then said they were Cubs fans????? How about glossing over the fact the Sox were stupid enough to get caught and gave baseball it's biggest black eye ever with the Black Sox scandal???

Hey, I thought you hated CA. Seems to me you should be applauding that incident with the Dodgers. I mean, Sox fans are above that sort thing, right? What a load of BS.

I loathe the arrogant and scumbag fanbase that is the Sox fans. A bigger bunch of morons can't be found outside of San Francisco 49ers fans. Yeah, genius, I hate the sport teams out here. Guess that slipped by you too, eh? Packer/Niner HATER. Yeah, you're not to quick on the uptake, are you?

When the pitcher bats, all nine players take turns at the plate. Baseball purists like it that way. For better or for worse. Sure, the AL has a higher batting average to this day but it also extends the careers of "batting cage" players who long should have left the game. Just because the fact that there are two different strategies does not make one preferable over the other. It is a matter of opinion and personal preference. Managers have thier reasons for prefering it or not depending on the situation. Again, generations of fans have grown up liking or disliking it for thier own personal reasons. You prefer the DH, I do not.

I goof around alot on here too and have ventured into every forum on here. Again, I have no need to go into Bears football and debate morons about how our first round pick is our savior or how we're gonna suck because of it.

I've learned you can't have a debate with a Soxfan without them acting like a horse's a$$ and the future of this country is in trouble with the educational system turning out retards like yourself.

I may live in CA but was born and raised in Chicago. I lived there for 18 years.

READ, the post, junior. You might actually save yourself the embarassment by typing even more stereotypical BS while glossing over things again.

Thanks for admitting you didn't pay attention. Yeah, you missed it and the whole basis of your posts were "who is bragging?"  Feel stupid yet? You should.

Keep on talking about "more winning seasons" (the best argument you had before the WS win.) and how much better your competition is or how tougher thier division is (LOL! Sure, right!). If the NL is so weak and the Cubs are so terrible, why couldn't the almighty Sox beat us 6-0? Again, one more win by either team would have made this whole conversation pointless and that is lost on you. The Cubs could have beat the Sox 6 games to none and you'd still be on here about how much better they are based on whatever BS you could pull out your a$$. Only Sox fans can be this completely over the top stupid. Nothing new there.

Fact is you didn't beat us, it was a wash. There is no bragging rights. This is 2008.

Oh, and if you can keep talking about the 2005 WS, I can tell you the Cubs have played in more of them than the Sox ever will. See how this works? Can't have it both ways Suxfan though I'm sure you'll try and spin it so you think you can.

My 7 year old is a mental giant next to Sox fan nation. You buffoons are just barely above Oakland Raider fans for stupidity and classlessness. Again, nothing new there, DUDE. Or do you prefer "Dog?" Guess I'm not as hip as you.

Why the Cali hate? That's totally unnecessary! I was born there and I'm one of the biggest bears fans I know (I live in Chicago now, though)! Hey Al Michaels? You like to watch movies? If California sinks into the ocean there goes the whole entertainment industry. Now some of you might say that's a good thing, but there are some extremely talented people out there that help entertain this "great" country of ours! I'm a Cubs fan, but I can respect the other side and recognize that they are a first place team as well. Why can't we all just get a long? I mean it's a great time to be a sports fan in Chicago!! Either way, I'm just saying that the Cali bashing is totally not needed.

Re: A message from Mr. " sweet " piniella

I just have one thing to say, OK maybe 2 or 3. First of all, the DH sucks. Pitchers should bat. If you play a position, then you should bat. Not all pitchers are bad batters. Carlos Zambrano is one of them. But it is part of the game, adds to the strategy, bunting, intentional walks, pinch hitters, double switch. Actually AL managers have it easy. They don't have to think as much.

Second, I still don't understand why Sox fans have such an intense obsession and hatred of the Cubs and their fans. Sox fans seem more concerned about the Cubs then they do of teams in their own division. I am a Cubs fan! But I was rooting for the Sox in 2005. Not because I like the Sox, but I hate the Astros, a true rival of the Cubs! So I was happy the Sox won and humiliated the Astros in the process. But I didn't have that adrenilin rush that I know Sox fans had. I know the feeling, ie: 85 Bears, 6 Bulls championships.

But since the Sox won, the fans have turned me away from the Sox. Why? Because they are obnoxious and always look for an opportunity to stick it to the Cubs and their fans. Is it jealousy? I will admit, Chicago is more of a Cubs town then a Sox town. And there are more Cubs fans in the US then any other team except maybe the Yankees. Every park the Cubs play in sounds like a home game with the fans cheering. But is that a reason to be so filled with hate? I love the Cubs, you love the Sox! Great!

Why can't we just all get along?

Just to toss more fuel on the fire devil [*dev*]

I have lived in several places since moving from the area and overtime have seen more Cubs gear than Sox on people so I can say I think if the Cubs were to win the series more people would care. However, I do believe if the Sox win the series regardless if the Cubs are in it, it would give them bragging rights.

I'm not a baseball fan since the strikes way back when I lost interest but when I was a baseball fan I was a Cardinal fan (ducks the spitwads).
