    Matt Forte at 7 weeks

    This Season:

    118 Carries   408 Yards    Avg. 3.5   3 TD's

    24 Receptions    185 Yards   Avg. 7.7   0 TD's

    3 Fumbles, 1 Lost

    Total Yards: 593 3TD's

    2008 Season:

    147 Carries   515 Yards    Avg. 3.5   4 TD's

    29 Receptions   223Yards   Avg. 7.6  2 TD's

    0 Fumbles.

    Total Yards: 738 6 TD's

Im not a Forte hater, i think that Forte is great and i want him to succeed. I just wanted to show the difference between last year and this year. His average is the same, he is down 1 rushing TD and 2 receiving TD's. He had five more receptions last year at this time and 29 more carries (thats like an extra game) Plus this O line is terrible. Im not giving up hope, and i know that he can finish strong.

Good to see that he isnt TOO far behind from last season, and i know that many of you will argue that because of the TD's and yardage. However, he is down 29 carries and 5 receptions from last season. The only thing that really bothers me is the 3 fumbles in the first 7 weeks.

Forte had a solid year last year. Although, 31 carries is an entire game. his average could be much lower.

Looks like he can still reach a thousand yards this season. If he does that behind this horrendous O-line that will be a success.

Imagine 31 carries agains the lions? he had 12 for 121. Or rams coming up. He could have added to his total you know. I do get what your saying though

Lets say that he has the same amount of carries and catches from 2008 this year.
    ......he would have ..
    6 less yards rushing
and the exact same passing yards.

We need to get him the ball more is what the stats are saying. To me, he is on the exact pace as he was last year..the kid is tough and has proven he can carry the load of the team. Pound the rock and we will open lanes for or receivers !

If he runs for over 1000 yards behind this O line, I will indeed bow down. I just want to see this offense with some damn blocking! It doesn't even have to be elite. Just not bottom of the league is all.

"Just" down 3 TDs..... thats alot, so 6 TDs less in a season is a huge difference.

The fact that he still has a legit chance to crack 1000 yrds on the season is a miracle

    two main causes:

    1) O-line not blocking as well as last year

    2) WRs are getting a LOT more looks this year...not to mention catches.

1000=62.5 yards a game.  Not a lot, actually.  if he DOESN'T get 1000, I'll be disappointed.

(7 weeks = 49 days) x (no sex) x (49  days x 4 Bag Macs per day) x (chilling out with Tommie "I'm crippled" Harris) x (boredom from listening to Lovie) x (depression from hanging out with the Old-line [hahahaha O-line = Old-line]) = A lazy I luv my behind RB who is too fat to put the burners on.

Re: Matt Forte at 7 weeks

His 3.5 yards-per carry is about a half-yard worse than last season - which wasn't that great to begin with. And to make things worse, his low numbers are inflated because of two good runs he had against the Lions. Take out those two runs and his numbers are 116 carries for 310 yards - a 2.6 average.

Yeah and if you take out the 7 games he played he has 0 yards for a 0 yard average.

Or if you take out all his 1 yard runs then he has a 30 yard average

    Lmao

It will be a rude awakening for Jay. No more 10-15 min breaks between possessions as the opponent scores TD after TD. We could have a McNabb situation, where he doesn't realize its within the rules that he actually gets to take the field before the other team has scored. He'll certainly get confused when he sees an opponent punt for the first time in 3 years...hope Lovie is on top of this...

    Neither line makes sense.

So tell me, are you impressed with that 2.6 average? It'd be different if he'd broken off one or two good runs per game. Then his average would be way up and no one would notice. That's what good running backs do. Forte has not been good at all this year.

This year we have 3 new starts on the line (2 now). Think that has anything to do with it?
In a game, nothing should be given away.
The winner must be better and stronger and smarter.
But most of all, he mus be passionate.
He must bleed love and spit fire.

Stop trolling.  No one has said Forte's numbers are good or even that he's been running well.  Is that what you want to hear?  Yes, IHTB, Forte has not run nearly as well as he did last year.  The bad shape the O-line is in has everything to do with that.  There, you happy?

Forte does well with what the holes he has, I love the fact he is such a good pass receiver and would like to see them line him out wide even more.
