Official 09-10 season thread

Ok I might be the wrong person to start this so if someone else wants to start one then that's ok and I'll follow that one but pretty much I'd say from my point are

1. See how Chris Getz can do at 2nd base

2. See how Josh Fields can handle being a starter and show talent which I think he did well in the opener

3. See how Dewayne does at starter I don't really know what to expect so we'll hope for the best

4. Hope that the veterans step up and help us make a run

Well that's all I can see right now again I'm probaly not the person to start a thread like this so someone can take over if they want to

this was anounced last night in the eith inning at dodger stadium

jim was was traded for minor league infielder jim fuller

ken williams had no comment on the trade as of last night

I am born and raised padres fan, and my team sucks, i am stoked they are dealing Jake(I want them to deal everyone but Adrian Gonzalez, but thats besides the point) and i feel the return for the Pads is pretty good, not great, but worthwhile on my teams end

so opinions from you sox fans? stoked? dont care?

Not a great fan of baseball, but I watched it. Being a Brit but also a fan of the other Chicago sports teams, I was wondering who do I pick to follow? Cubs or WS? Then I watched the all star game and noticed Pres Obama wearing a WS jacket. Did I hear boos? lol. Also, he can't pitch! Stick to the hoops, Mr. President!

Great Opening Day

Needless to say, it was quite fantabulous.

Some positives:
-Slim Jim Thome (a der, need I say more?).
-Buehrle limiting the damage despite some issue controls.
-Fields' D and rally starting bunt.
-Debut at the plate for Chris Getz "What He Wants".
-Awesome relief pitching.

One negative:
-Horrible beginning for Wise. I've always felt this guy was a good platoon player, but nowhere near an everyday starter. Hopefully Oz is on the same page (ya know, cause I'm a genious).
