Yeah lets just say I'm still patching up the walls from last years season. I tend to take it personally when we lose. Not only do I have to listen to a fan of that team talk and brag (which we all do anyways) about how they won but then you have those annoying fans that rub it in your face the kind you think about smashing there head against a table or running them over with your decked out bears car..etc.. I know we can't win them all but thats my hope for every season!

Living in Texas, if the game isn't on TV I try to hit the road and head on down to Austin and watch the game at the local Chicago Bears hang out. We all tailgate before the game and when its time for the game to start we move into the bar and take the whole place over! I am very loud when I watch the game and if we are winning the atmosphere there is awesome. If we lose or are losing I get angry, a little more loud and the profanity begins to bubble up. Its even worse when I'm at home watching the game alone and I carry the lose for a week. Same is true though if we win, I wear my Bears hats, jerseys and my skull cap in the OR, proudly displaying my loyality to my Beloved Bears!! I live to watch the Bears play, I wear my jersey and try to match what they wear that day, I have bears stuff all over the room and just get into the game.

I'm generally nervous during games. If we have a lead, I worry we'll lose it. If we're behind, I'm upset. I watch games with my family, but when I use the restroom during commercials, I'm usually praying.

When we pull off a win, then it's so awesome that it makes up for the nervousness. Especially when we pull off a win in dramatic fashion--liked when we blocked the Packers field goal in week 16 this year, sent it in to OT, and won.

I've vowed to be a more laid back fan this year, so I hope it works.

Now hold on there. I'm from California (Los Angeles) and I can tell you there's plenty of sports passion where I'm from. Lived here my whole life and love the Bears and Cubs just as much as people from Chicago, so my cajones and spine are just fine.

I never said anything about fighting wars. Not sure how that was brought into the conversation. Was that supposed to be a slam?

It's pathetic, ridiculous, and sad that your (not just you, but all who post) wives and girlfriends and your friends/other family have to wait and see how you are going to behave and interact with them based on the outcome of a meaningless game. It's quite ridiculous that your mood is effected for a few days afterwards.

My main gripe is with the fools that brag about starting fights in bars, hitting people and "giving them a fat lip", yelling at opposing teams fans in a bar "because they were annoying me", and the worst of all bragging about treating their wives/girlfriends like crap because they are in a bad mood over a game.

It's entertainment. Period. Played by overpaid primma donnas that don't give a rip about us and quite honestly don't care that much about the team or the game. They care about paychecks. Very few care about winning or the fans.

I hate when you do this...This is 2nd thread I've seen you ripping people for their passion over this football team. Why does it really matter to you how into the games we get? I dont think anybody throughout this thread wants to be lectured on how to act during a Bears game we'd prefer not to sit on our hands and golf clap after a score. This is becoming an annoyance...

What's annoying is a bunch of grown men bragging about how they throw things when they get mad at games, or how they start fighting or yelling at fans of other teams in bars, or how their wives/girlfriends have to leave the house or not talk to them if the Bears lose because they will be in such a bad mood over a meaningless game that they can't interact with the rest of society in a rational manner. That's annoying.

I'm surprised how many of you watch the games alone at your house. Meeting other Bears fans and talking a little trash with opposing fans at the bar is part of the fun of game day. There's nothing like singing Bear Down in a bar 1400 miles away from Chicago with a bunch of strangers.

I get your point on this... But for me, the group stuff, that's for the Super Bowl parties, or other big games (sanz bears.) When the Bears play...that's 16 games and just 3 hours per game to really focus on what I've been looking forward to all year. Sunday at noon, I'm into watching it without any distractions...that way I don't miss something cuz some drunk moron pissed me off with his lack of football knowledge.

Example: I went to a sports bar in Springfield for the Bears/Texans game...and of course there was one Texans fan there being a moron just to agitate the 99% of us pulling for the Bears. His team had nothing to play for....but a draft pick. But he felt the need to be a drunken fool the entire time...even though he was cheering against his own team in the long run. I prefer to have a little separation from the morons of society.

man, life can be VERY boring if you're not passionate about things. i know the bears don't care about me, i know that they won't recognize me when i'm dead and gone - but they provide entertainment to countless fans, and to tell those fans that being passionate to the point of ridiculousness is a waste of time tells me that you probably don't get excited about anything at all. life goes on for everyone, but do you even HAVE a life?

*shakes head*

no need to criticize others for what they do or dont do during a game. if you just watch, then turn off the tv and clean your toenails, that's your business - sad as it may be. leave the passionate bears fans alone.

Or are you the guy thats cussing up a storm during the game and boy if we lose it really effects you throughout the week. Do you guys throw things during the game when something bad happens? well i assume you want to ask the LADIES as well how they react on game day! ;)

i'm super passionate about da bears! i won't talk to anyone during the plays, and will scream and yell at refs, bad calls, players who don't give 110%, people at my house who like to tease :P it gets pretty crazy! and yes, i hate when they lose, and it sits with me for most of the week - at least until i start getting excited about the next game! we tailgate EVERY football sunday on our driveway - i make all kinds of tailgating food - we toss the pigskin, and then we watch football from 1pm EST until the last game is over at night.

my first ever dog (r.i.p) was named Staley, after the mascot, and when she died on xmas, i ordered a custom orange jersey with her name on it and the 00 that the mascot wears! i have a signed payton jersey, a signed fridge helmet and a big giant urlacher fathead in my basement!

i sing the fight song at least 3 times before the game even starts, and have it as my hubby's ringtone on my phone. i wont answer right away when he calls just so i can hear the fight song a little longer ;)

a little bit obsessed about da bears? i'll let you make the call!
