I would like to know if there would be interest in a forum where fans can get an update on the rookies. The Bears get new fans every year with the draft. Some of us have played with or watched these players since they first stepped on a football field.

Does anyone (who matters) review these 'suggestions'???

There is no 'one click' link to take you back to chicagobears.com from the message boards.

Mods, can we get a rule limiting the size of signatures on this board?

I realize that everyone here is trying to show their enthusiasm and individuality, so please do not take this as an attack on any poster.

But most message boards I have seen put a limit on signature sizes. Some do not even allow them!

Having gigantic signatures makes reading this board a bit of a pain, as you have to scroll through tons of repeating images or text to get to any new content.

My suggestion: you either have an image or text. If image, it can be NO MORE than 100 pixels tall. If text, it must be no more than 3 lines of text, with no blank lines.

Anyone want to discuss this?

It is clear the mods cannot handle the trolls here. Why can't you prevent people from making threads until they have 50 or more posts?

The trolling in the football forum is just getting ridiculous.

Why do you even allow troll posts in the main forum for people who signed up that day? Just delete the threads and ban them for crying out loud.

This relates to a sticky in Chicago Bears Football.

So where would discussion about Mike Singletary go...? Or Erik Kramer? Or Richard Dent for HOF? By the letter of what you're saying... no former Bears player should be discussed in 'Chicago Bears Football'. Funny... no one ever suggest moving a Mike Brown thread or Chris Harris... ie players more or less universally liked.

If I haven't said it before... I'll say it now. There is a poor logical flow to the forums right now. Also you keep trying to satisfy the 'minority'.. but your current solutions are unfair to the majority. Or at the very least... because thery don't follow a logical flow... members both new and old will keep posting in wrong places... because the wrong places seam more right.

1) Right now... 'Around the NFL' is buried as a sub-forum of 'Rivals'. 'Around the NFL' should be a top level forum on its own (like almost every other team message board I've seen) with 'Rivals' being a sub-forum of 'Bears Football' because discussion about actual rivals both directly and indirectly impact whats going on currently with the Bears.

2) Just as you once had the QB sub forum within the Bears forum... simply create a specific sub-forum for discussing former Bears players. This one move will satisfy the problems most have with posting about former Bears players. It would be both visible to the majority of CBMB users and it would decrease the randomness on where discussions about former Bears currently go. And to the minority who just like arguing because certain names are mentioned.... just MODERATE THEM.

If not for the arguments which come up on the main board when discussing certain players. or members trying to enforce their obsessive agenda by dictating who can and who can't be discussed and the context in which they are discussed.... none of this would be a problem.

Players who have been Bears will always be tied to the fan base they developed while on the team. This fan base is often still current Bears fans. And just as you would NOT stop people from talking about Dent, Singletary, Ditka, etc or move thier discussion to Rivals... you shouldn't move discussions abouit Oron, Benson, Berrian, Grossman etc. The only reason you do.. is becaus these players have a m,inority fan base with obsessive tendies towards them... both posditive and negative.

In short... you should simply promote 'Around the NFL' to its own top level forum along side 'Chicago Bears Football' and create sub forums inside of CBF for 'rivals' and 'former Bears players'...... this would make things easily identifiable and follow a logical flow.

Why talk about Orton in Rivals..? Denver is NOT a rival. And Around the NFL is buried as a sub-forum viewed very little. People get discouraged to even post there because its difficult to generate conversation.

I know the limits of this board... but these changes are within it's capabilities and have been discussed before. But you haven't at least tried them. What would it hurt to try? Instead every two months you have to keep posting about what goes where... because right now it is not clear, makes little sense and the relevant forums have a poor flow to them.. This is why you keep having the problems.

Bears Home Page - Annoying

I have been getting this off and on lately and it's always on the main Chicago board:

The website at boards.chicagobears.com contains elements from the site www.interthis.com, which appears to host malware – software that can hurt your computer or otherwise operate without your consent. Just visiting a site that contains malware can infect your computer.

There are a lot of great vids on the site, but they stall far to often. Especially during peak hours when many are probably watching. If that get fixed, it would be great, and also if a fullscreen function could be added that would be the bee's knees.

What the heck is going on with the msg board? Why is there a rash of ad pop ups continuing to spring up every time you exit or enter a post? They are rather annoying and it doesn't make me want to click on them what so ever. I understand that money has to be made somehow but jeez, can't yall do without those annoying pop ups? Sorry, I just had to rant.

I've been getting this error page a lot now when I try to submit a reply or refresh a page. Is this on my end or the CBMB end?

That's a screenshot of it. If you look to the right of the exhibit you'll see rookie sensation Johnny Knox.

Is this just unique to me or is this a common issue?

Ignore feature

This may have been addressed sometime in the past, I really didn't feel like searching through the entire message board to find out. Some (Warlock) may call em lazy for that, I really don't care.

My suggestion is to add an ignore feature. I believe the old forum had this feature and think that it may help to avoid some unnecessary issues. I know I'd use the hell out of it and that would help me from being mod'd/banned.

Every time I log in, it takes me to the "Login to messageboard" screen, and I have to find the last post I was on.

When you login, it should take you to the last thread you were on before you logged in.

This would make logging in a lot less of a chore.

There should be some hard hitting Bears promo videos that we could share on Facebook! These days we wave our flags/show our colors across the web, and what better way to do it. As an example on ManU's (soccer) fb page, there is a 30 second 09-10 season promo video. It would be so sweet for the bears to release one instead of just interviews about practice!

2009 Schedule Wallpaper

My suggestion would be to get the 2009 schedule wallpaper out MUCH quicker!!! I mean, the schedule is out there so should the wallpaper. I ended up creating my own which is pretty nice. I took the 2008 Matt Forte wallpaper and edited it to add the schedule. Pretty simple. I am going to post it laster for all to see and obtain if you would like. :-)
