Re: Brett Favre signs with Vikings...

That's good news. But I am hesitant on believing this source. It is a tad too early to write out a contract. We don't even know if his arm is back up to par yet.

I knew his signing was inevitable, but I suppose if they signed him they must expect his arm to be 100% by Training Camp.

Wonder what Tarvaris and Rosenfels reaction will be. They've tried their best to  pull the wool over their eyes since this whole ordeal started.

Cook Claims No Deal In Place For Favre

The guys at the St. Paul Pioneer Press, responding to our recent blurb regarding a certain gray-headed quarterback and a certain purple-helmeted team, asked agent Bus Cook to address whether Brett Favre is under contract with the Vikings.

And, of course, Bus Cook denied it.

(As they say, “He who denied it, supplied it.”)

No contract” was Cook’s message to Rick Alonzo of the Pioneer Press.

    Hmm. Thought so.

Although.. Cook is about as credible as the MSNBC article. Let's not forget he was also the one that said Favre had no intention of un-retiring again, not in talks with Vikings brass, no intention of getting surgery, etc.etc.

So he could still be doing what agents do. denydenydeny In order to keep it under wraps until the Vikings and Favre are ready to release it.
    --------

Once again, it could also all be a load of crap in the first place. Who knows.

Re: Brett Favre signs with Vikings...

No one else is reporting it yet, but it wouldn't surprise me if it is true.

If that is the case I will make this prediction: The FAVRE CURSE returns...Brett will play well for half the season then he will crap the bed and start throwing INTs causing the queens to loose games...and he will refuse to sit on the bench because of his consecutive start streak....and Brad Childress will be fired. Just a gut feeling if Brett does sign w/the queens.

I just hope Favre doesn't break until he plays that prime time game in Chicago on Dec 28th. That will be one cold game, possible replay of the late Dec 2007 game where Favre sucked at Soldier Field.

The player rep for free agent Brett Favre denied a rumor/report Sunday that Favre might have already signed a contract with the Vikings.
Profootballtalk contacted a source close to Favre's situation who wouldn't confirm or deny the tip. Agent Bus Cook is now flatly denying it, although he denies pretty much everything. Cook wrote "no contract" in an email to the St. Paul Pioneer Press Sunday evening. Vikings officials have not addressed the rumor that Reebok is already poised to produce purple No. 4 jerseys.

     Brett Favre-QB-JetsJun. 21 - 3:22 pm et
Profootballtalk.com "caught wind of a tip" Sunday morning that free agent Brett Favre may secretly already have signed with the Vikings.
PFT then tried confirming it with a source who knows the situation for sure, and that person said only, "I will not deny it...I will leave it at that." It's possible Favre has already signed, but the Vikings are waiting to submit the contract to the NFL office. PFT also passes along another rumor that Reebok has already green-lighted the production of Vikings' No. 4 jerseys.

Re: Brett Favre signs with Vikings...

Who cares what Favre does? Seriously, does anyone actually believe the guy is any better than Rosenfels at this point? I suppose the Vike fans will be harping like they got him in his prime, but the guy is well past that, and basically a washed up arm looking for some of his lost glory. It really is a sad thing if you were a fan of his.

However I am not, and cannot wait to watch our Bears D destroy this guy, and send him into permanent retirement.

I bet he signed and they're denying it to dot all the't I's and cross all their T's before formally announcing it.

I like it if it's true. I want to see them lose to the Bears with him on their team. I also want to see him get hit again and again and again....

Cutler, Rodgers, Stafford and Favre will make for some interesting games in the division.
