Not trying to sound like a d__k, but I'm sure this will.  Who cares? Who is Colt McCoy and what does he know about the NFL? Nothing!

Re: Colt McCoy a fan of Chicago Bears rookie receiver Johnny Knox

So Colt McCoy, who's never played an NFL game in his life, says "there was no doubt he'd be able to play in the NFL." Nice to hear, but nothing to write home about.

"There are only about a dozen NFL quarterbacks with the arm, charisma and willpower to carry a team to the Super Bowl. Cutler is on that list; Kyle Orton is not. Yet the Broncos gave Cutler away to the Bears because he didn’t make a positive first impression on new head coach Josh McDaniels. Franchise quarterbacks are harder to find than Super Bowl coaches. In fact, franchise quarterbacks often make Super Bowl coaches." -Rick Gosselin

Big time college quarterback says something nice about a guy that none of us had heard of before the combine.  My first thoughts were  my god maybe we got Jerry Rice.  Just thought I'd give the other side of the coin.  I was overjoyed when JA drafted him.  Hopefully he stays healthy and makes huge plays for us.  A compact burner sounds exciting to me. Hey, but what do I know?

Exactly...If he gets schooled by Peanut on how to get off the line, he could be great.  Before DHB was the next best thing since sliced bread, I was callin for us to draft him and people were saying Johnny Knoxville and makin fun of him......

I think that we regularly should take our 6th and 7th round picks and grab the highest rated small school athletes available.  They are relatively unknown, and in Knox' case.....He may be the fastest Bear on the team...we all know, you can't teach speed

IMO Knox is better than DHB. They're both fast but Knox has good hands.

Time will tell but I'm excited to see what Knox can do. Maybe not an immediate impact this year but some big plays and some valuable playing time

And to add to what you said. Being the fastest guy on the team. When you got guys named Daniel Manning and Devin Hester on your team. And your faster than them. Thats very impressive.

There always seems to be a few decent WR's picked from small schools or taken later in drafts every year if thier given a chance

Al Davis' new super weapon, with which he will unleash a terrible reign of destruction and ignorance upon the NFL. Men say he stands 10 feet tall and shoots lightning bolts out of his ***.

Right! If Knox would have played at a major school he probably would have been a first day selection in the draft.

It may take a year or two in the league, but with his hands and speed Knox could develop into a good wr.

I think the thought process here with those against Knox or any other small school players is many think that if they were that great, a major school would have recruited them.

It's narrowminded thinking, and does have the percentages behind them backing them up, but nothing is close to 100% in these area's, and anything from family to low GPA's to whatever as why they don't go to the major colleges.
