We have a group going down to Cincinnati for the game. We are also hitting the NIU/Miami,OH game in Oxford, OH that Saturday. It's about 45 miles NW of Cincy. NIU grads, get on board!
We are staying in Indy on Saturday, south of the city on the bypass. Best prices for rooms, and area isn't bad.Colts are in town and there is some convention, so rooms are limited to an extent and pricey at that, especially downtown. Off 65 and 465, nly 8 miles from d-town, which isn't too bad. Was last there for the NCAA regional and downtown was a fun time.
Staying in Newport, KY Saturday/Sunday. Have been to Cincy a few times and rooms are high for what you get. If it's dtown, cheap it is likely a hole. NW and Blue Ash aren't bad, but it is 8-10 mile drive/cab ride. We are staying @ a Comfort Suites right on the River for $115 a night. 2 beds and a roll out. Only 1.5 miles from d-town. I actually prefer Newport area for nightlife, especially the Hofbrauhaus. Lot's of Cubs fans in area when they are in town.
As for game day, parking east of stadium appears to be season ticket holder(passes). They get pretty serious there for tailgating it appears, They get high ratings. From what I looked up on the internet, the area west of the stadium off of Third St. is the best area for cash parking. There are a few gameday bars off the main drag I have been to before/after reds games
Alast, if you are still looking for tickets, if they are sold out you might want to try Stubhub. I got mine a few days before they finally went to single game options. I got decent tickets (although they are high up, on the 35 or so) for about $25 over face, including fees. Not bad. They had lots available at the time.
Hope it helps anyone looking to go and hopefully I'll see some of you there and we'll get a good another good road crowd similar to St. Louis when we took it over!!!
