Anyone going to the Game in Cincinnati??

Looking to tailgate with either local Bear fans in Cinci or hook up with others who are traveling in from Chicago for the game on Sunday Oct 25th. My friends and I (there are 6 of us girls total) are looking to tailgate before the game. Send me a note at ChiBearsFan2009@gmail.com.

Re: Anyone going to the Game in Cincinnati??

I'm trying to land some tickets.  We'll be driving down from the Indianapolis area.  I'm waiting for the bengals to sell individual game tickets.  Right now, they have 4 game packeges, then they'll go down to two, and the single...hope there are some decent seats left.  We'll be looking to tailgate as well just have to figure out where the good spots are.

We were thinking of doing that too - we want to sit together if we can so we may end up going StubHub route.

Sounds great! We are glad to bring something to the tailgate - let us know what you may need. Our plan is to stay in one of the hotels downtown walking distance to the stadium so I am sure there are place we can pick up food or drinks on our way over.

Re: Anyone going to the Game in Cincinnati??

We have a group going down to Cincinnati for the game. We are also hitting the NIU/Miami,OH game in Oxford, OH that Saturday. It's about 45 miles NW of Cincy. NIU grads, get on board!

We are staying in Indy on Saturday, south of the city on the bypass. Best prices for rooms, and area isn't bad.Colts are in town and there is some convention, so rooms are limited to an extent and pricey at that, especially downtown. Off 65 and 465, nly 8 miles from d-town, which isn't too bad. Was last there for the NCAA regional and downtown was a fun time.

Staying in Newport, KY Saturday/Sunday. Have been to Cincy a few times and rooms are high for what you get. If it's dtown, cheap it is likely a hole. NW and Blue Ash aren't bad, but it is 8-10 mile drive/cab ride. We are staying @ a Comfort Suites right on the River for $115 a night. 2 beds and a roll out. Only 1.5 miles from d-town. I actually prefer Newport area for nightlife, especially the Hofbrauhaus. Lot's of Cubs fans in area when they are in town.

As for game day, parking east of stadium appears to be season ticket holder(passes). They get pretty serious there for tailgating it appears, They get high ratings. From what I looked up on the internet, the area west of the stadium off of Third St. is the best area for cash parking. There are a few gameday bars off the main drag I have been to before/after reds games

Alast, if you are still looking for tickets, if they are sold out you might want to try Stubhub. I got mine a few days before they finally went to single game options. I got decent tickets (although they are high up, on the 35 or so) for about $25 over face, including fees. Not bad. They had lots available at the time.

Hope it helps anyone looking to go and hopefully I'll see some of you there and we'll get a good another good road crowd similar to St. Louis when we took it over!!!

Re: Anyone going to the Game in Cincinnati??

My wife just got me tickets to this game. Will be driving from Schaumburg on the 24th. Anyone been to this stadium? This is my first time going to see the Bears at another teams stadium. Do we get a lot of Bears fans? I'll be sitting in the 140 section. Anyone else around that section?

Re: Anyone going to the Game in Cincinnati??

There are 2 threads going on this topic so I will post on here also.  If anyone wants to band together to form a large pro-Bears tailgate party please email me at randy_75@live.com.  We have already started an email chain between about 5 groups of people (estimated 40+ Bears fans).  It looks like we are going to try and park in the Longworth Hall lot.  It is a cash lot that opens at 5 AM...this is info I got from a Bungals season ticket holder.

Re: Anyone going to the Game in Cincinnati??

I agree with the Longworth Hall and will be going there with our crew of six. It look like a good spot form what I've seen. Backup is just north/east, off  3rd. Hope to see a lot of Bear fans there!

Re: Anyone going to the Game in Cincinnati??

Looks like the Longworth Hall lot is the place to be.  With the change in the kickoff time, what time will people be getting there?  I haven't tailgated at Cincy before.  We were talking about getting there around 11:00 AM.

Re: Anyone going to the Game in Cincinnati??

There are 2 threads going on the Cincinatti game so I will post this here also...

Anyone that wants to park together we will have 2 trucks leaving the Marriot in Covington at about 745.  We are meeting up with at least 2 other Bears fans with cars I have been on contact with at 8 am to all enter the Longworth Hall lot together so we can reserve an area for all the Bears fans to tailgate.  There is an email chain going around with details so email me at randy_75@live.com if you want more info.  If your not driving just meet us in the lot...at last count we had a Dodge Nitro, Grand Cherokee, Chevy Avalanche, and another pick up truck that will all be parking together, flying Bears colors, and having a great time.  We will have grills and bean bags if anyone wants to use them.

Whoever brings the Cedric Benson pinata gets free beer from me :)

Re: Anyone going to the Game in Cincinnati??

I have been to Cincy for baseball games, and a lot of Cub fans go to Hofbrauhaus in Newport, which is next to Covington. It is a huge place and Cub fans own it when in town. It is the same chain that is by Wrigley.  There are a few more bars there too

Here is a list I found:

    http://www.sportstavern.com/ohio/cincinnati.html

Head First, Game Day stick out and are d-town. Anyone been to either.

If anyone else has ideas, please post them!

Re: Anyone going to the Game in Cincinnati??

If you're looking to go to Longworth you want to be there as early as possible...it is always the first lot to fill up and a crazy good time! $30 to tailgate but limited space! If you miss out on that...try the gravel pit lots. Theres a lot more space and still a damn good time!

We are planning on getting there at 8:00 AM...think that will be early enough?  Also...do you know if we can "save" a few spots for late arriving Bears fans?

Re: Anyone going to the Game in Cincinnati??

We are also parking in Longworth Hall.  We are getting there very very early in order to secure a good spot.  We have a group of about 10 people.  We will be flying Bear colors, etc., and will have Bear Down on repeat on the iPod all day long!  Hopefully we all end up close by each other.

Re: Anyone going to the Game in Cincinnati??

Hello fellow fans of Da Bears,

I'll be heading out there with a group of 16 (2 live out in the Cincy area, the rest of us driving in from Chicago on Saturday).  We've had tickets and hotel for a while now but tailgating was the one thing we were still unsure of but this thread is a big help.  It seems that this Longworth Hall lot is the place to be.  We hope to get there about 8ish - will this be early enough?
Anyways, we will have a grill, a few sets of bags, and plenty of food and booze.  People are welcome to stop by and party but it seems like (at least hopefully) that a big group of us will just kind of congregate in one area and just have a blast together before the game.
We will be in Section 304 for game.  Ideally we woulda gotten better seats but that's the best we could do for 16 together when we went to buy them.
Feel free to email me at jamespmessina@gmail.com or messinaj@ctpf.org if anyone wants to organize something ahead of time.  Looking forward to meeting some other great Bears fans and ultimately celebrating a big road win!

    Go Bears!
