Top DT/ DL Prospects. Ndamukong Suh

Check him out! Wish we had a 1st round pick!

    Ndamukong Suh

I agree Suh is perhaps the best player in the upcoming draft.  Unfortunately he will be long gone before our 3rd round pick comes along.  Eric Berry from Tennessee is close behind.  A guy that the scouts don't seem as high on but he plays great every time I see him is the LB Weatherspoon from Missouri.

I am hoping the wide receiver from Minnesota, Eric Decker might still be available when we get to pick on Sunday of the draft.

I also heard the DT from Oklahoma is about just as good and maybe even a better 3 tech. Forgot his name though but he's a top 10 pick. Eric Berry is the guy id want most in the draft.

But for our 3rd round pick im hoping for a gaurd. We need to get our oline going good again and in the 3rd round its not to hard to hit on a solid guard.

This will be an epic draft, just the opposite of the 2005 draft.

Although, DT taken in the top draft picks haven't been that spectacular lately. Only Ngata stands out to me.

Re: Top DT/ DL Prospects. Ndamukong Suh

Ndamukong Suh or "The NDOMINATOR"  as he's known in Husker Nation is without a doubt the real deal. He has a motor that runs non-stop, and he simply just doesn't give up on a play. He's just as good defending the run as he is the pass, making him a complete D-lineman. He's a very cerebral player which compliments his natural athleticism and excellent instincts. For example, when he is unable to collapse the pocket on pass plays, he almost always gets his hands up to deflect passes and impede the QB's line of sight. Alot of D-linemen don't-- consistently-- incorporate that into their defensive reportoire. He does. As a result, he's also among the NCAA leaders in passes defensed-- a category generally dominated by DB's. He's also pretty good dropping into coverage on Zone Blitzes too. He's not quite as athletic, nor does he possess quite the speed of Gerald McCoy (which is hard for me to concede, as I despise all players affiliated with Choklahoma, being a Husker and Longhorn fan), however he's a more disciplined DT who is rarely caught out of position-- when it comes to making plays.

I would absolutely love to have Suh on our team, but he'll most definitely be gone within the first 3 to 5 picks, and we don't have a pick til Rnd 3 anyway, unless JA pulls a monster package out of his a z z. We know that won't happen (LOL). Besides, Jerry is scared of 1st Rnd picks anyway.

As far as Guards are concerned, the best one I have seen this year is Ken Plue at Purdue but he is only a Sophomore.  Senior guards that have impressed me are Jon Asamoah from Illinois and Sergio Render from Virginia Tech, and they may still be around when the Bears pick in 3rd round.

There is a kid at Idaho with a Hawaiin name that CBS Sportsline has very highly rated.  I am hoping Idaho plays this weekend on ESPN game plan so that I can see for myself.

I still lover Eric Decker from Minnesota, but now he is out for the year, plus I guess he is a great centerfielder as well, so he may choose to go the Szmarjda direction.

One player who will be available that fits the 3 technique is an undersized DT named Mike Williams out of Pitt he will be available in the 3rd or fourth round of the 2010 April draft.

Re: Top DT/ DL Prospects. Ndamukong Suh

I did get to see Mike Iupati last weekend and you are correct.  He looks great.  It was kind of funny to watch the rest of his offensive line giving ground on passing plays, but there was Iupati anchored at the line of scrimmage with his defender trying every move in the book to get around him and just could not.  He was picking up blitzes real well too, something our OL really has difficulty with.

I also fell in love with Brandon Lafell the WR from LSU this weekend.  Not only as a receiver with good size and speed, but a very willing and capable blocker on running plays.

Re: Top DT/ DL Prospects. Ndamukong Suh

I saw a good DT prospect this weekend.  Vince Oghabaase from Duke.  Tall a bit lanky for a DT but he played the run extremely well, and had a sack against North Carolina.  North Carolina has a couple of Juniors which were very impressive, the WR - Greg Little and FS - Deunta Williams.

Terrance "mount" Cody the star DT of Alabama. Supposedly he is 6'5", 354 pounds, and runs a 5.1 forty, has a 36 vertical jump, and his teammates confirm that he can dunk on a regulation height basketball hoop. The only issue scouts have with him is that he needs better endurance.
