    Illini QB situation

Apparently Zook is doing a 2 QB system the next game.

I have no idea why they didn't make Juice Williams a running back, because he clearly cant pass the ball.

They should be starting Jacob Charest at QB and using Juice as a RB.  That's all he ever does anyway, tuck the ball and run for more yards than the RBs.

On top of that they should be making McGee a wideout.  He's way more efficient at WR than he ever was at QB.

They scout great athletes that play in the wrong positions.

    Da Bears!!

Bottom line:  Ron Zook is a phenomenal recruiter, but he's not a very good football coach.  He stockpiles lots of talent, really great athletes, but on gameday, they look completely unprepared.  Dumb penalties, blown coverages, dropped passes, mental mistakes.  The same thing happened at Florida.  He was bringing in championship-caliber talent there, too, but only winning 8 games a year.  They dump him for Urban Meyer, and they're a dynasty.  It's not a coincedence.

You are absolutely spot on in your assessment of Zook. He can recruit his a z z off, but can't coach his way out of a wet paper bag. His assistants are horrible as coaches, and even worse at nurturing and developing talent.  Juice Williams should be much further along than he is. In fact, Juice has regressed dramatically since his sophmore year, and its a shame because he has so much talent. Juice has all of the physical tools to be a stud QB, however, he needs to be coached up on the mental aspect of the game, by a coach who can effectively communicate and relay the info to him. Unfortunately, that coach doesn't reside on this staff. The closest one to that was Mike Locksley, but he's now the HC @ New Mexico. Also, Juice isn't the only talented player that is being done a disservice either. Quite a few on the roster come to mind (ie: Martez Wilson, Eddie McGee), however, Juice is the most glaring example.

Sounds about right to me.  I wish he'd give up on Juice already and just make him a RB.

Turns out I was right about Juice leading the team in rushing yards.  He's currently 2nd on the roster with 90 carries for 277 yards.  Ridiculous and sad.
