ITS TIME TO CLEAN HOUSE which of course the mccheapskys won't do.

Lovie Smith is a bad coach period.  Ron Turner is a bad coach period.  Jerry Angelo ditto.  The only thing that saved Angelo was the deal for Cutler which I still can't believe he pulled off.  Smith has openly admitted his team wasn't prepared to play against the Bungals.  The red zone offense is non existant.  But the McCaskey family won't pitch these useless coaches because they never want to dump a bad decision and admit they were wrong and give up a small portion of their salaries to these people.

Angelo's drafts bad would be to put it nicely.  And how bout that offensive line he put together this year.  Orlando Pace is a turnstyle at left tackle.  Look even Ced Benson can run if he gets decent blocking...which we have none of here in Chicago.  So you go and get a gunslinger and then you have nobody to protect him.  As far as Cutler he's still the better QB by far than Orton - Orton is in a good system for him and actually has an oline and defense.  The Bears have neither.

How many times can we get in the red zone and either fumble, go backwards, or end up with a field goal.  I'd say Ron Turner will be the first sacrificed.  Yup its Ron's fault he has no oline and no receivers.  And how many times in that final drive against the Bengals did the oline get called for penalties.  How far are we into the season.  Maybe in the preseason and first couple of games but almost halfway through the season and they're still jumping and holding.  The Bears whenever they pick next year as well as through free agency (Michael Turner anyone) will have to rebuild both lines.

Lovie Smith refuses to discuss changes during the press conferences all he says is we need to get better no kidding lovie did your magic 8 ball tell you that.  Smith has made so many boneheaded moves I can't believe he's still running the show but then the McCheapskys aren't about to give him his walking papers and give that money away - the misers of the midway will continue.

Angelo is the worst of them all remember Jerry was the last guy available as the Bears did their search for their first GM since another Jerry awhile back.  The Bears couldn't even do the search without bringing a firm in to help them...how hard is it to pick the right GM?  Well apparently the Bears haven't figured that one out yet.  Jerry's made some decent picks now playing for other teams.  But the worst has still got to be Michael Haynes and Rex Grossman over Troy Palumalu.  Talk about dumb.  Then there's the Thomas Jones/Ced Benson debacle.  And now neither are here and second year slumpper Matt Forte is here.  While Forte ran wild last year he's come back to earth with a crashing thud.  Note to Jerry No oline no running game.

What we need is either Cowher or Shanahan.  I'd take Shanny because of his history with Cutler and he'll run the kind of offense best suited to Cutler.  Heck make him the GM too then we can actually get an offensive line in front of Cutler who'll be lucky to make it through the season.

Bear Down thank goodness only a few weeks left especially after that clunker against the Browns lasst weekend.  Sure didn't seem like a win to me.

Clean house? Really? I think you are wrong. Some changes are needed, for sure, but there is no need to change everything. If we did & the new staff struggled in the first year, every person on this board that whines like this will be up in arms. It can take years to put together a quality Superbowl run. Look how long it took Cowher, Dungy, Shanny, etc...Too many people EXPECT immediate gratification. It just doesn't work that way. There are coaches who have had that "Luck" to get there sooner, but it's not the norm'.
All I need is a sweet singletrack, & a Bears win, & my life is complete!

Re: ITS TIME TO CLEAN HOUSE which of course the mccheapskys won't do.

Rayman I respect your comments but c/mon man,  Smith has openly admitted now that he hasn't had his team ready to play in at least a couple of games this year including the 45-10 debacle at Cincy.  Where you almost had to wish Benson was still here.  As ludicrious as that sounds he's just about the NFL's leader rusher.  He totally blew it here and had to go.  But we knew the guy had problems coming yet we took him anyway.

Angelo has continued to put a horrid offensive line sides kruetz on the field.  Yet he takes Williams last year when everyone knew he was injured.  The only reason Angelo is here is because of the trade for Cutler - a saving stroke.  But Angelo has given him no vet receviers.  Johnny Know has been great in his first year but that's about it.  Cutler has no time to throw with the collapsing oline and again this oline should have been address in FA.  much like the Michael Turner situation should have so we wouldn't have had to spend a pick on Forte.  Again Forte had a great season last year, but with the liine or whether its Forte - two goal line fumbles against altanta - the running game is non existant and just plain said.  Maybe we can put Bob Avellini in at RB.

With Turner the red zone has become the dead zone.  Of course Cutler seeing this is trying to force balls because he has no running game.  1st and goal from the 2 and once again we can't score.

This is a bad team period and it goes back to coaching and right now we're playing for the Broncos pick.  Interestingly enough players whom angelo has let go including the leader of the secondary Mark Brown have done quite well.

Of course Smith isn't going anywhere because the Bears are still on the hook for him for 10mil.  And we all know the Bears.

Meanwhile the Lovetron's D gave up 31 points in the first half to the Bengals. In the first half that's now bad coaching that's putrid.

I hate to say it but one can only hope the Bears do badly in the second half, we won't get the pick but we'll have shown this team quit on lovie.

Did the Bears just expect to wave a magic wand and Cutler would win them everygame.

Turner will be the sacrifical lamb this season.  The red zone offense has to be one worst in the league.

In regard to Lovie's D no one outside of Briggs can make any sort of play.  Blown assignments and coverages round out Lovie's Tampa 2 d.  Shame we didn't get one of Buddy's sons to run our d.  Rex Ryan and the New Jersey Jets have handled the monicker of this won.  Defensely the Bears have been horible.  They haven't really played well since the Steelers game in week 2.

In fairness to Smith he can only play the players he's got.  Which puts us back to Jerry Angelo.  The draft that really bothers me is when we took Grossman and Haynes in the same round.  Hayes is no longer in the league and Grossman is gone.   Meanwhile Trou Palimalu was there and the bears couldn't be bothered to take a look at him.  Angelo has some success with finding playes not playing them and when they start to reach their potential they're gone - they he redrafts in that same are because we don't have a decent secondary.

The McCheapski's will not buy out Angelo and Smith so we get to suffer for yet another year.  As far as brining in another Coach.  If the Bears do decide it's time (which I hardly doubt because of their track record) it would be great to get Shanahan here - he knows Cutler and can work with him.

And Smith who is now calling the defense play (see the Cincy game or the lack thereof) and it's a no brainer.  But Halas Hall knows they're on the hook for this guy for another year and 10m which as we all know the Bears won't eat that contract.

Meanwhile Rome and the Bears Burn!

Re: ITS TIME TO CLEAN HOUSE which of course the mccheapskys won't do.

I think its pretty much a given that Turner will be gone after this year (unless he has a phenomenal second half of the season).  Even Larry Mayer isn't trying to spin things in his favor.

The difficult thing with Lovie is that I don't think anyone actually knows what he does for the team.  I think most of the homers are assuming that hes like a duck on the pond, while the haters see him as nothing but a broken record of non-information and a blank face on game day.  I personally don't know, but he frustrates the hell out of me.  I'm guessing he'll be around another year as long as the bears go 9-7 or better.

As for JA, I don't agree at all.  I think he does a fine job.  Everyone here likes to disregard all the good picks he makes and focus on the ones he missed, or the fact that there aren't many GMs with a better track record either.  Ya, hes missed a few really great players.  But how many other teams missed those same players?  I do fault him for neglecting the offensive line in the draft, but I'm confident he'll be able to address that next year.  He has put all the other pieces in place for a successful team - I think he gets at least one more year to see it come together.

Can we finally admit after a case history far worse than anyone else that Chicago is the worst sports city? Can we give up the tired old Philly and New York beating?

I think they're mad because they're so ugly. Watch the crowd shots at a Bears game. These people are all fat, nasty hideous gargoyles.

Re: ITS TIME TO CLEAN HOUSE which of course the mccheapskys won't do.

Lovie and the bears will be fine relax?  I guess you didn't see the debacle on Sunday - tommy harris thrown out on the 4th play of the game - coaching 2 out of the last 3 weeks the opposing teams scored 31 points in the first half. You know how many times this has happened since 1920  5 - that's right 5 times since 1920 - this is the man that said trust me when he got rid of Chico...I saw Singletary's press conference today and he mentioned how he went to then coach dick jauron about a coaching job and dick basically blew him off...read between the lines this isn't the first time an 85 bear has been told not to come home because the mccaskeys still believe they were the ones who won the thing not DITKA and anyone associated with DITKA is considered a cancer by the McCaskeys - Leslie Frasier whom chico wanted to bring ended up in minni because Lovie didn't want him here.

How can Smith say his team is prepared to play and then we see this garbage.  I can only hope the Bears are continued to be blown out in every game.  Because this is the only way we're going to get any action on the part of the McCaskey family.  Who Still owe Lovie "your defensive coordinator" 11 million bucks after this season.

THE ENTIRE COACHING STAFF NEEDS TO BE FIRED!!!! PERIOD!!!  This is a lousy football team. Jay Cutler certainly didn't sign up for this.

And let's talk about Jerry I can't draft for s-it angelo...Hey Jerry it starts up front to quote Ditka - you have no offensive line or defensive line for that matter...Tommy Harris hasn't been the same guy since the Dallas game two years and two surgeries ago but a 40 mil extension.  The running game doesn't exist because we have no blockers.  It's Jay Cutler and the Jordanaries out there.  Jay has got great skills but he and Greg Olsen can't do it alone.  Sure Benson is having a great year but we made the right move in sending him packing.  The bigger question is is why was he drafted in the first play.  Angelo's offensive drafts have been horrid to say the least.  With all of the breakdowns on sunday we're left to wonder is the talent evaluation part of the problem as well...it sure looks like it.

It's time to bring in a real coach who can run a pro style offense and get us some real defense.

Mike Shanahan anyone...Cutler's mentor in Denver...the Tampa Two has got to go - so let the blow outs keep coming and say goodbye hopefully to the worst staff since Neil Armstrong.

Let's take a look at the Bears wins - Det, Cleveland, Seattle without Hasselback and the Steelers who missed two field goals.  This team could easily be 2-6 and now comes Samurai Mike whom the McCaskeys wouldn't give the time of day...I hope Singletary really takes it to them - I think I'll watch the Hawks game instead...start playing for that Denver draft pick Jerry and don't let the door hit you on the way out!!!!!!

Re: ITS TIME TO CLEAN HOUSE which of course the mccheapskys won't do.

I posted a very similar thread as the OP of this one and I certainly agree with him.
Angelo has mortgaged this team and if we don't get a real O-line soon, Cutler may get critically injured. Angelo can't draft first day worth squat and refused to rebuild the essential O-line. Retreads are just that. Fred Miller, R. Brown, Omiyal and Pace were mistakes. We needed to draft STUDs.
Lovie, he just seems to repeat the same mistakes and seems to lack enthusiasm also. I guess he's happy with his paycheck. I'm not.
Turner? Excuse me while I pass gas! (I think I just soiled my drawers!) The McCaskey family seems to make bad judgements all the way around, save Cutler. With all due respect to Virginia, I think they should sell off the team.
Heck, even the Cubs have finally done that!
We need to clean the entire house save Marinelli and Toub.

Re: ITS TIME TO CLEAN HOUSE which of course the mccheapskys won't do.

Sell the team I concur, but the won't do it because it's halas' legacy both Carol S. in the trib and Haugh in the trib had excellent columns yesterday.  The coaching isn't just the problem.  It's the gm and of course the bears being on the hook for Lovie and Angelo won't make a move - unless we get blown out in every game the rest of the way which I'm hoping for. Fire Angelo, Smith and the rest of those bumbs and bring in Cowher or Shanny and give them complete control - within two years you'll being looking at an entirely different team.  Meanwhile Rome burns.

Angelo isn't scott free and the only reason he saved his job was pulling off the trade for cutler but he's ignored the fact that both the lines are in bad shape the bears are getting blown off the ball on both sides.  Which prompted on the of the niners to say before the game that they should have no problem with the bears defense I total sign of disrespect.

Singletary should be here but because the McCaskeys are so afraid of anything Ditka related they wouldn't take him, got rid of Chico after he led the defense to the superbowl (which by the way carried Lovie's sorry butt).  So lovie cans chico and gives up BFF bob Babich I'm sure you saw Babich's outstanding game plan against the pack at lambeau at the end of last season.  What was it 37-3 we lost...

The bears had given up 6 touchdowns on the first 6 possessions by the other team 5 times since 1920 let that sink in. And now twice in two weeks Lovie Smith and Angelo should have been fired after sunday's game but wait until we get to the vikes, ravens and the eagles...they should run it up and help grease the skids for lovie and co.

Ted Phillips said in his weekly address that he has complete confidence in Lovie doing the right thing...and with bears mouthpiece jeff joniak in place throwing him softball questions did you really think the chairman would do anything else.  The bears have no intention of giving lovie and jerry there money waiving bu-bye and then hirinig someone who actually knows how to coach.

And how bout that tommie harris extension.  His knee hasn't been right since the dallas game two years ago and they gave him 40 mil more and then we got rid of mike brown sure he's had injuries but the guy can play and is with the cheifs right now.  This team is in total disarray and I can only hope it continues.

Hell I'd take Snyder at this point he's god awful but actually wants to win.
