    Wolfe done for season

    http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2009/11/20/garrett-wolfe-to-miss-remainder-of-season/

Well that stinks...We are pretty thin at RB again.  We need our AP more than ever now for change of pace.  We need to get him back in the mix as he was very good early on.

That said, I like Wolfe.  Hope this isn't the end of him in a Bears uni....Unless we can pick up someone better.  But then again, we still have Angelo calling the talent.

Every yard the Bears get is accredited to the fact that Cutler can throw the ball, get him some help in the form of a #1 WR, and a running game.....Troy Aikman

doubt he goes on injured reserve.  It sounds like Angelo is trying to save as money for next season and does not want to move up someone from the practice squad so they can earn a full years salary

If we're gonna go that route, I was available as well.

The Bears' profit last year: $40.6 million.

If that's really our reasoning behind it, we need to give up now. If the difference between signing someone in the offseason is the 500,000 a guy would make this year, we don't have the resources to compete.

Is Kahlil Bell still on the practice squad? If so I can't see how they don"t bring him up.
There are hundreds of coaches who want to coach for the Chicago Bears. But, how many of them want to coach for Lovie Smith right now? Mike Martz...Your (sinking) ship awaits.

Does Forte or Peterson have to go down before we pick up another running back for our razor-thin depth?  Holy crap, Angelo.

Maybe they just feel like the season has tanked and there's no reason to not save some money here.  I'm not saying I agree with this, but every position that they choose to not fill this year is going to save them money.  Wouldn't it be crazy if we ended the season with a roster of 45 or 50 players (and the rest of the slots belonging to players who are injured for the year).

To make matters worse, it's not like we even use McKie anymore. But then again, it's not like we even run the ball anymore.
At long last Ron Turner is gone. But it seems that with every blessing there is a curse. RIP Gaines Adams.

    Re: Wolfe done for season

Remember during pre-season when we all thought we were going to the Super Bowl?  Why?

    • We had one of the best LB corps in the league and nobody has the depth we have
    • We have Prince Forte with preseason all-american Kevin Jones as change of pace....then we had Sproles'esque Wolfe, and AP, our sleeper!
    • O-Line: Wow, we have future HOF'er Pace, Williams looks promising, everyone wanted Omiyale so he MUST be good...Schaffer/Beekman as backups?!! We're stacked!
    • Aromashadu, Bennett, Hester, and Knox catching on!  I think this is the year our WR's shut everyone up!
    • Marinelli is God!  Our D line is going to absolutely dominate this year
    • WE HAVE THE MESSIAH CUTLER!!  SUPER BOWL BOUND!!

    WOW, HAVE TIMES CHANGED......

I'm sure the McCaskeys are not satisfied with $40.6 million if they could make $50 million.

To again show that he is too small to play in this league...... Wolfe has a few more carries and he gets hurt for the season halfway thru  the season. Yes, it's a freak injury, but he's still too small for the league.

So is Sproles, Smith from Carolina, D. Williams from Carolina and many other players and running backs.

both sig pic's are way too big for forum guidelines

Those players have talent, Wolfe is not an NFL RB so being miniscule makes his case even worse.

How is AP a change of pace? What, he goes slower than Forte?

I'll eat crow (actually) if we make the SB. Hell, I go this far; if we make the NFC Championship game I'll eat crow, put it on video for all to see. 11/4/2009

Actually... Wolfe IS an NFL RB... but just not very talented.

Yep...and defenses attack our offense a little different without the threat of Forte so it gives AP a chance to find more holes and some extra yardage after busting through the hole before the secondary and linebackers chase him down.

That doesn't show anything, he is not to small with his 5.5 ypc.  If Forte was hit in the same spot he would be done for the season.  Forte is not that big he is just tall.
