    Chicago Bears for HBO's Hardknocks

I personally would love to see this happen. Typically, this show tends to pick teams that have seen years of struggle or mediocrity and are trying take the next step to get better. In the past they have done the Ravens, the Cowboys twice, The Chiefs, the Jaguars, and the Bengals. This show gives you the inside access to just about everything; rookies learning the playbook, personnel decisions, final cuts, etc etc. If Halas hall wants to show the fans of the Bears that they mean business and REALLY want this team to get back to winning form, then plain and simple---open the door and let us in. Let us see that you are serious.

Just my take, I know usually the coaches and the organization have to agree if picked but I have no idea if fans vote or the show just chooses a team randomly.

Just a Quick edit here: I would like to add a Hulu link to one of the Cowboy's episodes for those that have never seen this show because they dont have HBO. Hulu was nice enough to put the entire season, full episodes up for those that need to catch up.

    here is the link http://www.hulu.com/nfl/hard-knocks

Just Scroll down and click on one of the videos, enjoy!

There would actually have to be "hardknocks" for them to do a show on the Bears.

3 years of missing the playoffs since the superbowl, the new addition of a franchise QB, losing Brian Urlacher for the year and his rebound from injury, Lovie Smith and his coaches on the hot seat. A new offensive coordinator. Dude trust me, there's plenty there for HUGE ratings. Believe me HBO will not have a problem selling this to football fans and to bears fans.

I don't see why the Bears would be up for it.  Could be a distraction.  Training camp is already a circus as it is.

Re: Chicago Bears for HBO's Hardknocks

Believe it or not, but I remember a fan asking Zoom on his twitter about how cool it would be if the Bears were on hard knocks and Azumah tweeted back saying the Bears had the chance to be on hard knocks this past season but opted to decline and thus we got the Bengals instead. Take it for what it's worth I just remember this tweet back around Decemberish..

Re: Chicago Bears for HBO's Hardknocks

There is a lot of disinfranchised bear fans out there. WIth all the bears have had to deal with just this last season, a season with high hopes, a new QB, Injuries, the offseason meant big changes to the bears staff, and it also spelled tragedy when Adams passed away. The bears are entering next season with a revamped coaching staff, and nothing but high hopes in the difficult NFC North division where rivals, the Vikings, and Packers leading the way and doing quite well in the playoffs. If the bears want to be back to the promised land this next season.... blah blah

Anyways I think it would be great to see the bears on HBO series. I think it could really help this team in the long run, I mean we will see the true face of Lovie, the face we never get to see with his dumbfounded stonewalling on the sidelines of every game, and very pedistrian post game interviews. It will also let us get to know our own team better. I for one would love to see it happen.

Re: Chicago Bears for HBO's Hardknocks

lovie isn't really must see t.v.

it could help hbo's ratings when the viewers fall asleep watching lovie and leave their t.v. on hbo all night.

i think they should have a reality show called who wants to be head coach.  we can take all 4 of our "head coaches" and make them compete in a series of tests and games and see who gets to be our next head coach next season.

that would make this joke of a staff entertaining.

"Tough, hard-nosed football, that's what Chicago football is all about," he said. "That's what I've seen at times. The consistency probably wasn't there. That's why probably the coaching change was made."
"I think they can win. They just need a little boost, just a little bit more energy, a change of scenery. That's what I think I can bring."

They would rename the show HBO's Deep Sleep if Lovie is involved.

    This!

There is no way HBO is going to invest a penny into a show with Lame Duck Lovie as the head coach. Not in a million years.

Talent, record, potential, etc really have nothing to do with it. It's entertainment and Lovie is as about as entertaining as ron turner's offense under kyle orton on a cold snowy day in Chicago.

I agree, it would be a great show but I just don't see Lovie allowing this to happen... he would have to actually DO something. I have a major fear that he'd look in training camp like he does during a game...useless.

I wouldnt say Marvin Lewis, Jack Del Rio, or Wade Phillips are must see TV either. the show has ZERO to do with how entertaining the coaches are. The show focuses on the struggles of the team and gives perspective of the ENTIRE organization, this would include the McCaskeys too. Everybody in Chicago wants to point fingers at either JA, Lovie, or the McCaskeys for this mess, well this show would be the best way to determine that problem. Not to mention the inside access into the offensive and defensive meetings-------this is what I REALLY REALLY want to see. I want to see if coaches are holding players accountable for mistakes, I want to see if they are mentoring or just lecturing their players, I want to see what Jay says during meetings, I want to see what the receivers say during meetings, and I want to see how our rookies are being developed.

I would love it if we got to do 'Hard Knocks' this coming summer. The show is already so interesting, getting to go behind the scenes and getting to know the players.

Watch the pathtic performances during games and you'll get most of your answers.  You don't need to see behind the scenes to realize it.

Pretty sure I remember seeing Lovie quoted as saying that as long as he was coach they'd never do a show like that.

If I were lovie, I would do this show. Lovie loves to talk about perception versus reality. He is constantly using this excuse when people say things like "nobody wanted to coach here, the organization has given him an ultimatum, he and JA arent getting along etc etc". Well heres what I say to that: Prove it Lovie, prove to me and your fan base that the media is wrong.

Re: Chicago Bears for HBO's Hardknocks

I would certainly enjoy seeing a Bears Hardknocks. With the current situation though, I don't see it happening. I could see it happening when the team is a bit more settled, situated, controlled, or what have you. I would not see why they would want that critical eye throughout a do or die off-season.
